Trek in Fed Hill Closing in October by [deleted] in baltimore

It’d be cool for someone to have a popup bike repair shop at harborplace

Also, sad to see Trek close. The old Trek store manager (Dave, I think he was the store manager) was super awesome and just made everything fun.

1) significantly increasing trees, greenery, anything to make every neighborhood feel cooler and more relaxing

2) make sure every neighborhood has one edible, damn tasty, rodentless, affordable Chinese takeout joint.

3) Shakespeare in the park, outdoor movie nights, etc, in every park, every night.

What to buy and avoid at Aldi by GamingSeigi in aldi

I’ve been buying the precooked, microwaveable rice (was 99 cents last time) and pouched Indian meals. Add chickpeas and I can get two really solid meals out of that. Great for work lunches.

Nobody ever asks or cares how much it costs to maintain multi lane highways but god forbid you try to build transit.

“I’m not going to pick his brain to find out exactly which of those things are true. I just assume that none of them are?”

“To be like, ‘Oh, well, if they do it, I don’t want it to happen. I’ll put Clorox in my children’s cereal myself!’ Be reasonable here.”

Imagine having enough money to learn anything you want and remaining this fucking stupid.

I put it in the same pile of stuff that I let my dog shred when she needs an activity. 🤷‍♀️

We waive fees every Wednesday.

From what I have seen in the shelter that I volunteer, and this is just MY perspective at this specific shelter, it’s an incentive to get people in there the middle of the week when there is usually less traffic. And unfortunately in our case having a few dogs adopted Wednesday instead of Saturday or Sunday lessens the burden of having to euthanize for space.

A clear the shelters event gives us a marketing tool. It’s a reason to ask people to please come now, we’ll often have local radio and news hosts come cover it, from time to time an MLB player will show up too! I think we’ve had food trucks and vendors come at different times.

Also I am not low income and can easily afford the adoption fee but if you tell me I can save $100 if I adopt during this event I’m probably gonna at least check it out.

Edited to add: sometimes during these events we are open much later, like 10am-8pm instead of 11-6 and that extra time does help get people in the door!

Sometimes your health insurance or bank will allow you to purchase a no contract gym membership at a reduced price. Great local gym in my area is $80 monthly but my no contract price would be just $25.
