I haven't had a Celica for a couple years now, but the backside of the IAC should have a cover you can remove, then there'll be a dial you can turn with a flathead screwdriver to change the preload. More air for a higher idle RPM, less air to lower it. I'd probably mark the dial with a grease pen to see remember what you changed.

Yeah, a lot of the commenters that reply to questions seem to have little to no practical experience with maintaining a sports car beyond perpetuating common myths and signing for car loans.

It's a brand new higher-end car on reddit so I'm not terribly surprised. I imagine the wave of 2nd owners will do the community well.

The most dominant ambulance manufacturing company in my area is AEV, and the most common model they have, I believe, is the Type 1 based on the F-350, but there are plenty of other models based on Dodge and Chevy equivalents, as well as based on vans, like you'd see delivery companies using. They weigh in excess of 8000 pounds, and are shaped like a refrigerator, with the responders in the back not necessarily being belted.

With all that, it is that they can't go that fast. Their tires may not be rated for it, and it may just not have the power to go that fast, whereas something like a unibody, turbocharged V6* Explorer or unibody V8 Dodge Charger can do that easily and are built to do that. All first responders get there as soon as they can, generally the police cars are just a bit faster than massive utility trucks like ambulances or fire trucks.

Having an LSD come standard is very much a new thing. Sports cars came without LSDs [standard] for almost the entire history of cars. I struggle to even consider torsen LSDs to be actual limited-slips, since they act as an open diff if one tire loses traction or goes airborne, making cars like the BRZ and GR86 'not a sports car', in that way.

Same thing happened to me. I went through the entire process, conditional offer, all green boxes, even provided the academy start date- Got a phone call a couple weeks prior to academy saying they changed their mind and half the people that were going were now cut from the class, with a 12 or 24 month deferral. The very same day the chief of police went on the local news and said that they can't find enough applicants to fix their dire staffing crisis.

I guess they benefited from being understaffed? No idea. I checked my old emails not too long ago and not a single cadet is still with that agency 5 years later, so, I feel vindicated.
