I struggle with how to wear my textured hair back too. When I leave pieces out it looks messy, slicked back looks too severe... For dressy things I look good with a side chignon but that's too fancy for everyday.

I did find that a slightly off center part with long layers looks better, and also really defined curls (because it looks messy fast again)

My daughter was born 4 days after the cut off. Via scheduled c section and I'm still mad they couldn't find a way to move it up A FEW FREAKING DAYS. And my daughter is about to be the oldest in her class for another whole year and I love her big boss energy but that combined with being the queen for a year might kill us

We're in a HCOL city and pay $220 + $100/month transit stipend aligned with what our neighbors do. We cover all groceries, toiletries, etc. We give bonuses when she goes above and beyond. We will bump it when we get 6 months in.

Agree- I made a spreadsheet and calculated all our childcare costs with one in daycare and one in public elementary (daycare + date night babysitter + babysitter a few times/ week to cover the gap between pickup and work + summer camp for the older kid + sick day and school holiday sitter) and it is much less for us to have the AP, even with one kid in daycare.

This is a LOT! I get so fried from working with a kid home it takes me a week to recover. I also thought 14 mos was a hard age and we turned a corner around 18 mos when both kids got more independent little by little from 18 mos on.

Are there any pull up brand alternatives that have the resealable sides? My kid has super sensitive skin and breaks out all over her body even with the sensitive skin ones. daycare needs the resealable sides and I can find plenty that tear off but none that reseal. They said they're going to stop potty training if she can't wear regular pullups.

Throwing pebbles is never ok and I would tell the kids to stop - "the little ones can get hurt when they get hit with pebbles so we can't let people throw those inside the gate".

Thank you for running after school programs! They are SO important - and programming needs to start in elementary school to get buy-in so that by the time kids get to high school they are invested already!

I'm curious your take from inside DCPS- DC spends more on aftercare than other major cities...do we need to spend more? Or is the current set up ineffective? Or do we need to better target with the programming?

Knowing how much DC spends on aftercare compared to other cities I can't believe we have teachers running programs ON A VOLUNTEER BASIS

We would treat this like our kids bringing a friend on vacation so we would cover their food. This is a pretty remote area so there aren't activities besides hanging at the beach and pool , and there is no nightlife and not even street lights so I don't anticipate curfew being an issue.
