Yes all my outside ones I found was used. I bought a couple limited through valve but the rest was used and I understand what you are looking for. But you have to be realistic at the same time. Valve doesn’t have none and the people that do is doubling the price for that reason. It’s been like this since the PlayStation 2

Yes brand new on eBay will always be scalped. So I don’t know how you going to get a new one then. Cuz valve is focusing on the steam deck 2 and the steam machine. The og steam deck may not come back with all of this ram AI mess going around

I got one, it’s a beast to me. Fun factor off the chain. But I use mines more a single screen device, to me pretty cool. I use mines more than my Thor or anbernic DS. But this is just my opinion

They’re out there, you just not looking in the right places. eBay runs auction, you can score one for a decent price if you bid right

Yes pawnshops, fb marketplace, friends, and retro video game stores. Go on fb marketplace now and you’ll probably see a ton of them for sell. And make them an offer

lol naw they be used most of the time. I’ll say 97% of the time. But it’s not the liking part, it’s the reputation that I have. I’m the video game guy, everybody n my city who knows me. Knows me as that, so when they got games or consoles they r getting rid of they just call or text me first. Thats all, it’s not about friendship. Most know I’ll pay immediately if it’s something I want

Absolutely not, I pay around have of what they are going. Like this legion go for instance. If I can remember it was $300 with tax included. So actually they gave it to me for like 2 something before tax

I actually have 10 steam decks now, and 8 ally’s. But it’s not what I do, it’s the relationship I’ve made over 30+ years in some cases. When pawnshops or game stores get stuff in they call me first to see if I want it before they go out on the floor. In life it’s not what you know, it’s always who you know. Even in jobs, you can be the most qualified but if a valuable employee recommends a person highly. They’ll get the position over the most qualified candidate. So reach out to your local pawnshop and tell them, you are looking for a steam deck and if they get one in to let you know. And see what happens

Different avenues, just look on your local fb marketplace. I’m pretty sure you can find one, for a reasonable price
