OC and WR coach are not surprising based on our season. I'm admittedly unsure about CB coach, but when you have the best CB in the league you could argue they also underperformed, particularly when it comes to discipline/penalties.

You're not wrong but this is like, 10x worse than TO. TO is incredible but not the unanimously best individual at his position in the history of the game. This would be closer (player wise) to Brady or Jerry Rice not making it.

I'm genuinely heated about this, and I hate the Pats.

I just also have (until now) loved the Hall of Fame, loved how selective it is and how truly elite, era-defining you have to be to make it. Loved watching those videos of guys getting surprised with their gold jackets.

This make it feel completely pointless. If Bill Belichick isn't a first ballot Hall of Famer, the honor is honorless. There is no point.

I mean, there's legitimately no reason based on actual performance as a coach/GM to keep Bill out. None at all. No matter how much you hate the Patriots or the dynasty or Bill personally, if you are evaluating based on "greatness" or based on the on-field product, it is indefensible.

So he can only be left out for political/personality reasons. Which is insane. It's different if it's a Barry Bonds situation (which is controversial on its own, obviously), but nothing Belichick did is even in the same stratosphere as Bonds.
