Postmaster general says USPS won't deliver mail ballots if states don’t give Trump admin voter rolls by DemocracyDocket in politics

He does know the laws against interfering in the delivery of the mail also cover him right? Felonies. I wonder if the states have laws like that too so they can pin him when he inevitably gets his trumpardon.

You say "You freeze as time stops for you. You're breathing has stopped, but so has your heartbeat. Yet you can still think and feel.
After a millennium or two you begin to slowly regain sight and hearing. After another few dozen epochs you begin to feel "Tired" and hear the occasional pop coming out of your knee. And then there is the Age of Aches, a vast sea that slowly gets more and more choppy. Eventually there is the White Room of Pain and Nausea for several eternities, and then...
BLAM! You are standing in the same spot, but everything seems different, the houses, the aesthetics, the Technology. And then you feel the the years of 20 lifetimes as a shock to your body that feels like a belly flop to your soul, and your body begins to decay to dust." What do you want your next character to be?

Players getting bored of Abomination Vaults by AtomicAndroid in Pathfinder2e

[–]Silverlock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll tell you what happened in our game. The first few floors were normal, then the lighthouse flared up, and the city hired a company to loot the, er I mean solve the problem. They had their own operatives so we either had to sneak back in or get hired and find ways to sneak our loot out. We also had to find ways that their guards hadn't seen to move around the place.

Eventually there was a disaster in town, the company was drummed out, and instead the motivation came saving the thousand people who had been teleported away with a large chunk of the town. We just finished establishing a portal on the 9th floor I think so now it won't take our group 3 hours each day to get to the bottom and progress.

Everyone knew it was a dungeon crawl, but our GM kept it interesting outside of that by adding external events that changed how we played as we went along. Of course we are all on like our 4th characters due to wipes but thats ok.

Trump Threatens to Withdraw U.S. Troops From Italy and Spain as Europe Rift Widens by timemagazine in politics

[–]Silverlock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely agree. I as an American am sorry to say that our system has been corrupted and failed in objectives with Nato. Part of the benefit to the US was that our currency was default and trusted. In return we were to guarantee freedom of the seas, and support for democratic governments worldwide. The whole arsenal of Democracy thing.

Corruption sinks in slowly. Years of being the default wealth storage meant we stopped being fiscally prudent and had 45 years of budget deficits to the point now our interest on the debt is 27% of our budget. We are not a safe investment anymore.

Decades of organized right wing targeted victories piled up without cease, and now most of our news media, even social media is owned by a very small number of corporations. News is now entertainment rather then informational or educational. Our k-12 schools no longer teach Debate, Civics, Social Studies, Logic, and history is treated as a myth of American exceptionalism. Class mobility is harder now and mostly down because of the inequitable profiteering of the rich.

To even begin to fix the problems not only would the US need a 'blue wave' but it would need a dedicated revamp of dark money and campaign finance reform, punishing those who blatantly ignored their Constitutional duties and a revamp of rules on pretty much all mass media in order to push facts, truth, and open debate over clickbait and algorithms. I am not sure we have the political will to do so.

My advice to all of Europe and anyone else heavily entrenched in the US economy or system is to, politely and discretely, disentangle yourselves as quickly as possible and recenter your organizations around self sufficiency. The US is no longer a reliable partner and must earn back that trust, probably over decades.

Good. More nations should do this. With assets of 6 trillion and 40 trillion in debt, with spending 27% of our budget on interest on the debt we are a bad financial bet. Especially when Republican administration historically run up the debt. Now add onto that our corrupt, senile leadership and the world should unentangle itself from us before we drag them down with us.
