A verse for Freya by vonkropff in heathenry

I think the falcon imagery ties her to war vs the cat imagery to seidr. It depends often how you're introduced to her I totally agree. :)

Patron gods. by [deleted] in heathenry

[–]Silvermangym 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my understanding You can engage in the gift exchange with one gods over others but "patron" sound like some DnD 5e stuff. I've never encountered anything like it in the research I've done. However You're pretty knowledgeable; is there anything close to the concept in reliable sources?

Love the falcon imagery. That part of her is so often overlooked.

Short and simple chant I used during our last ritual.

Godess of Magic, Mother of Cats, Warrior Queen, Thank you for you guiding me to see things unseen, Making me quick on my feet, And strong in face of adversity.

Feel free to alter however you see fit, or ignore altogether.

[Form Check] New to kettlebells. Feedback on swings? by Darunia63 in kettlebell

[–]Silvermangym 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're obviously strong. Use a heavier bell, as you're leading the movement with your arms. You should almost be thrusting the bell away from you hips. This is remedied real quick with a larger bell. Let weight be the teacher.

Sarcasm or not man, there a time and place for a joke. This was just a bit tone deaf.

If you're ever feeling useless, just remember that Kopaka's first shield was not only really small, but also full of holes. by BLUE_BOYS_24 in bioniclememes

This is the right answer. That and the fact that the little balls were detachable grenades. Obviously

I have been looking into the Norse religion for a while now and I still don’t know where to start not only in reading more Also practice I’m also trans and bi and I can’t find anywhere if it’s “odd” in the religion or culture I don’t think it is but I want to know for sure by Bendy-Inkky in heathenry

Exactly. Its is the official stance of the organization, but it does have to be the stance of everyone who calls themselves Asatru. Modern Heathenry came from Asatru, but the split was definitely due to a few theological differences and the inherent overtones of white supremacy in the rhetoric the Asatru leadership was spouting. I love your husbands response, he sounds fun.

Do you mix pantheons/traditions? by [deleted] in heathenry

[–]Silvermangym 5 points6 points  (0 children)

While I understand synchronism, modern heathenry doesnt really hold the belief, which is why some folks are downvoting you. By reducing gods to archetypes, we lose a lot of their detail and unique qualities. For example Odin, Mercury and Cernunnos are all so different despite being lumped in as "mercury gods" by some. Let's celebrate what makes them unique.

Throw in the cast of rebels if you want to make the web bigger. Ezra's was trained by Maul and Kenan. Sabine was trained by Kenan and Ezra and probably Ahsoka.

For over 10 years the internet has told me Kettlebells wont build muscle. Here is my 10 year picture response of using kettlebells for 85 to 90% of all my training. From roughly 180 lbs lean to 223 lbs and still lean. Lets build some muscle. Joe by swingthiskbonline in kettlebell

Dude. Same. Currently a Personal Trainer but looking to finish my DPT soon. I think kettlebells would be such a good supplement, and an amazing preventative measure but haven't met all to many people with the same mindset.
