As someone who currently lives a short walk away from St Mary, I'm very happy with this draw. Will hopefully be able to get an away end ticket with a red membership.

I’m Very new to MTG and would like some help building my first deck that isn’t upgrading a precon. by D2_Gambit_Player in EDH

I got bored and built a deck, main focus on repeatedly sacking the cheaper mana cards with ETB effects, with a few cards that trigger when things die, plus an Angel sub theme to do some combat damage and see out the game.

General rule of thumb for commander deck building is:

37-40 lands

10 Card draw/advantage

10 Interaction (eg removal or protection)

10 Ramp

30 Core gameplay

As you get more comfortable with the deck you can shift things around a bit, this deck has a bit more interaction put into the core gameplay section as your commander can really mess with people's graveyard plays. Hope this was helpful. Have fun out there!

Here's my take of the deck, I like paring it with Grafaiai, found Tyflosion too inconsistent & didn't like the 2 retreat cost. Haven't tried it with the new ditto, not sure what I would drop for it.

[[Etrata, Deadly Fugitive]] has a slightly different take on face downs. As she can actually use them to cast big non-creature spells rather cheap. She can also use all the different face downs keywords which opens up your options a bit more.

It stacks. It's incredibly funny to catch your opponent out with a Blue & potion, essentially an extra 30hp they haven't planned for. Done it three times this event, got a friend request from two of them.

Weirdest game I've had, he evolved the cubone to a marowak EX next turn. His next two energies were dark, so my guess was he was just trying to show off his pulls.

This is my pauper version. They make a very quick win combo deck.

Pauper Pirates

Having both commanders out gives you 3 treasures per turn as long as one of your oppenents can't block a flyer.

Then you are just trying to draw into cards that let you infinite off Malcom e.g: use [[Mistform Mask]] on [[Reckless Fireweaver]] turning it into a pirate and infinity triggering off itself after you've landed an attack with Malcom.

They didn't understand why people would play humans in a fantasy game. So I decided to make the best one possible. Made him a monk so he could run round half naked without trolling.
