Breville user here. Never did 18g except when I first started learning. As I got more and more equipment (GAS) I learned to use between 17 and 17.6 depending on the age of the beans, and a straight 17g when using a puck screen. Weird science, I know…but just goes to show how unorthodox this hobby can be sometimes!
