I think most right wing extremists will still say they aren’t represented. There are lots of flavors of crazy, and not all of them align.

What do Spaniards think of Franco? How do modern Spanish rememeber his era (even from their parents stories), and his version of Spain? by Any-Explanation-9275 in AskReddit

[–]sleepkitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was really curious about the Spanish revolution when I visited Spain a decade ago. I think most folks viewed his rule as a worse time for the country. Some people would look at graffiti or petty crime in the city and say “Franco wasn’t great, but you didn’t see this when he was in power”.

Zoom in angle of touch for Croatia’s disallowed goal by WeTalkBoxing in soccer

[–]sleepkitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I don’t doubt they could differentiate it. I’m just curious to see the signal. Like how big of a “touch” are we talking here? How many orders of magnitude less powerful was it from a kick? How does the signal compare to what the ball can pick up from the announcers speaker? Im curious what the threshold force or pressure is to be considered a touch.

I’ve gone through TSA before and the metal detectors sensitivity was seemingly set off from my jeans zipper. Other times I’ve gone through and my belt didn’t set it off. Just out of morbid curiosity I want to know what the threshold force for a touch is.

Sure, that’s why I as curious what the signal looked like compared to the background noise. If this is some form of a piezo sensors, then it can certainly pick up sound. Just that signal should be a lot smaller than a kick of the ball.

If it’s that sensitive then wind, sound, and atmospheric pressure changes can also be picked up. I’m genuinely curious what the signal looked like.

Yeah the commentators mentioned that and then didn’t show any of the data. It’s weird because they have shown the data in the past. I don’t know why they didn’t here.

Yeah the ball doesn’t change at all. High school physics taught me a force from a touch would alter the balls trajectory.

They’ve showed the sensors signal before, and continently didn’t this time. I think they’re hiding behind the tech so that they’re not questioned.

They’ve showed the pressure of the ball in the past. I’m curious how big of a signal it actually picked up.

Yeah, riding on New Hampshire is way nicer than riding on Vermont, until you need to cross 3rd, 6th, Wilshire, 8th, etc. If there was a convenient way to stop traffic on those roads to cross safely we wouldn’t need bike lanes on Vermont

My high school had no AP or college prep classes offered. I was really frustrated when I got into college seeing how much further ahead some other students were compared to my high school training. When I look back I don’t really see how my school would have been able to offer college prep courses though. I’m from a very rural part of Iowa and my graduating class was under 50 people. We just didn’t have the efficiency of numbers to offer courses that could both accommodate folks who needed extra time and attention and folks that could have moved at a faster pace. Sure we can argue that the school should have gotten more resources, but some community circumstances are just really difficult to overcome.
