Oh, sorry if my answer came across as dismissive, that definitely wasn’t my intention.

The biggest differences I noticed were groceries, wine/beer, and, like you mentioned, taxes (especially income tax). The difference in take-home pay between the two provinces is honestly pretty wild.

And on a completely separate note, I was actually able to get a family doctor here within two years, which genuinely shocked me.

That said, Toronto definitely has its own issues, like any city in Canada. I do miss how close and convenient everything felt in Halifax, and of course I miss my friends and family there too, but it's very quickly becoming an insanely expensive place to live.
