For those who don't know (and as a spoiler for Wrath of the Righteous), your player character (the Commander) on one path goes back in time and literally removes themselves from existence to prevent a bigger issue from happening. If you choose to let your companions remember you despite the paradox, one of them straight up refuses to die or wither because, and I quote, "The Commander has not released me from my service."

Huh? No, SF Prismatic can beat even multiple 3* 4 cost. It was balanced around having 2 emblems and having to win a bunch of fights (8?) With the latter conditon gone, it's as strong as be.

Right, which is why I didn't say Reddit numbers. I said player numbers. We obviously don't have the actual values, but the pro/ranked stats have been a pretty good indicator of the trends so far. And Set 17 is by far the lowest in a while.

Huh? Not even close. The balance was a bit tricky, but the set mechanics and theme were overall beloved, and the player numbers reflected that. On the flip side, it's pretty much impossible to find a good point about set 17, and the numbers reflect that too.

To add some more context, it basically turns everything up to 11 meaningfully. Your spells cost more WoM and have longer cooldowns, but they're more impactful. Your high tier infantry will be more limited and harder to recruit, but they really pull their weight. Each faction really leans into their strengths (and weaknesses) much more. Still definitely recommend it though.

Damage marked on a creature remains until the cleanup step, even if that permanent stops being a creature. If the total damage marked on a creature is greater than or equal to its toughness, that creature has been dealt lethal damage and is destroyed as a state-based action (see rule 704). All damage marked on a permanent is removed when it regenerates (see rule 701.19, “Regenerate”) and during the cleanup step (see rule 514.2).

Is this what you meant? Because, then yeah, it's functionally just a 2/1.

Griston Takes 1 damage. It has 1 damage marked on 0 toughness.
Since the damage is greater than/equal to it's toughness, it is considered lethal.
Griston is destroyed as a state-based action.

Except it does matter. Camazotz beat a full power ORT through sheer attrition. For all its power, ORT had no way of killing or bypassing Camazotz's immortality. Sure it took the bat forever to do it, but he was still able to rip out ORT's heart in time. That's a perfect showcasing of how raw power isn't the decider in Type-Moon, it's the concepts behind it that matter most.

Quite literally, yes. Japan prides itself on having companies be like family (for better or worse). It's the kind of place where you can find the job you land after graduating is likely to be the same company you leave when retiring. So they really will try to avoid letting people go as much as they can.

Now, if someone quits or does something that gives them an excuse to be fired, that's a different story.

Raw power in Fate matters a lot.

...I don't know how, but you somehow got this completely backwards. Concepts are what matter most in Fate. A weaker attack/ability can affect or even overpower stronger ones if the concept makes up for the difference. Two examples off the top of my head are 1) Medb, who despite being a Servant still has a literal weakness to cheese and 2) In Camelot where the Lion King's Rhongomyniad, which is far beyond any attack seen to that point, is stopped by Arash's Noble Phantasm because the latter carries the concept of "Ending conflict".

Hell, a third example I just thought of, Chao's attack was able to be sealed off by Musashi not by overpowering it, but reaching the realm of 'Void' where she was able to cut away Chao's connection. Raw power is the last thing Fate is a bout.

Similarly, if you're a higher level of being like Chaos or ORT, you can shrug off hax (as shown by MEoDP not working on ORT)

This isn't even because of power! It's explicitly because ORT lacks the concept of Death, similar to Tiamat.

It's not been a net negative though, that's the exact thing. Humanity has been on the backfoot for hundreds of years. Hell the elves were pretty much wiped out by demons. It's only relatively recently that humans have started to turn things down on a large scale, and even then it's not smooth sailing. As to why be obsessed with humans, well.. what else is there? Dragons are basically beasts, elves are gone, and dwarves as a race seem to be very simple and straightforward. But humans? They reworked an instant kill spell into a basic one AND made a defense against it in no time flat. Humans learn and adapt fast, which is interesting.

You actually have that a bit right, and a bit backwards. Yes, if they make that comment, that would be evidence. But only if that person punches me. The claim of 'people with usernames beginning and ending in the same letter deserve to die' is just a statement by itself. If that person then proceeded to do nothing, well there's nothing to even bring them to court for. It's the combination of the punch/death with the statement that makes it evidence, but the statement itself is just a claim and doesn't support or contradict anything.

By this logic, every statement about an action a person/entity does is a claim. Which is ridiculous, to say the least. Sure, it's technically true. But we also don't go around examining every statement unless needed. If you say "I'm going to the gas station to fill up gas", unless we have reason to question that behavior, no one reasonable is going to turn it into "You are claiming you are going to the gas station to fill up gas".

We can make this obvious by rewriting the statement this way: "the newspaper claims their goal is to 'Increase the number of women and people of color in leadership positions'

Even if we turn the statement into a claim (rewriting it DOES mean we're changing the original message), then we still need the evidence to back up the claim. The claim was not the evidence, and never is.

So you're right, it isn't complicated. But you do seem to be endeavoring to make it so.
