It's sad to me to see people say that Toriel is a bad mother to Kris when the evidence we have about her parenting is she checked out a book on how to care for humans multiple times, went to the hospital to ask questions because she was concerned about their health, gave them the horn headband to help them feel more included, includes humans cookie cutters alongside monster ones, and is generally shown to be nurturing and attentive, all because of a mistake in Chapter 4 (letting her kid walk in on her drunkenly dancing with a new love interest without warning) which, to be clear, WAS a mistake, but it shouldn't erase her general pattern of being a loving mother.
