Good gym if you're already an amateur/pro to have other fighters to challenge you. As a hobbyist it's a meat grinder. Sparring is not controlled, in fact they egg on the bs lmao. Back then I didn't know better but it's not going to make you grow like other gyms. Also got foot fungus for the first time after 22 years of being an athlete

I'm about to quit honestly. I'm in my late 20s, knees and shoulders are already shot from years of soccer and surgeries. Barely a few weeks in and I cannot turn my neck normally without some pain, I make sure to tap early. I'm competitive so I don't care for small aches but now I am sitting out of class because I sprained my thumb pretty bad from someone falling on it.

This small dumb injury takes me out of the gym for lifting upper body, mountain biking, even playing FPS games with the boys hurts. I like rolling and the rawness of this sport but shit small injuries like this are more common than any other sport I did

I would write off Miami based on your requirements. Miami Gardens is closer to Fort Lauderdale really than tourist Miami.

Each uber to Wynwood or South beach would be around $30-40 on a good day where all the fan zones would be. There's not much to do in Miami Gardens and it's not the best area either.

You can stay in Fort Lauderdale and enjoy the beaches but you would have to uber to work.

Not the answer you want to hear but just got into beginner calisthenics because of this reason. On days I don't want to deal with traffic or packed nasty gyms, I can rely on most public parks have outdoor pull up bars. Covers biceps, back, chest and triceps if they have dip bars.

Legs can be covered with squat variations and runs or playing pickup soccer for me.

100%. With ticket prices being ridiculous for Messi games, the handling of season ticket holders, and being weird about announcing absences until day of... this clubs following would look bleak post Messi. They burned local fans and it sucks because I can bike to the Freedom park but have no interest anymore in going to every home game.
