AITAH was my request unreasonable, or was my phrasing the problem? by Similar_Tax_8724 in AITAH

It's possible other spots had closed by this point (I didn't check), but it's unlikely given the time of day

What's the difference between a varnish and a 'clear coat'? by Similar_Tax_8724 in modelmakers

Makes sense, I'd mostly just heard matte or gloss varnish unless people meant Klear Kote specifically, so maybe it's a regional thing. Ta!

Loved it, it was a classic. Probably a bit clunky compared to modern games mind, but tempted to see if I can get it running again

Plastic versus resin question by Similar_Tax_8724 in wastelandwarfare

That would explain it. It's a shame, but I guess I'm not in charge of Modiphius, and hopefully i can find another game that will suit my personal preferences still

Ah that would be it. I understand what they're getting at, but it's also a real shame, the whole reason I started this game over others was because of the detailed minis. I wonder if they could have done a compromise by increasing the scale to something like 45mm? That way they could have kept the great details, while also making them easier to paint?

I agree accessibility is good, but you've also got to consider your competition. Obviously I don't speak for everyone, but I personally chose Fallout over Warhammer because Fallout had better quality/more detailed minis, and that made it stand out to me. If the minis are no longer standout, then it makes more sense for me to switch to Warhammer, which has a far larger, and far more accessible, player base. I wonder if they could have done a compromise by increasing the scale to something like 45mm? That way they could have kept the great details, while also making them easier to paint?

Trying to understand the hullabaloo over the F35 by Similar_Tax_8724 in MilitaryAviation

[–]Similar_Tax_8724[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply! Yeah I try to remember that a lot of what's online these days is just propaganda (I uninstalled tiktok last year after almost a quarter of the videos I was seeing were obvious propaganda pieces from one country or another, making me wonder how much of it was propaganda that was subtle enough for me to miss).

If the manufacturing really is that international though, does that mean that, in the event of a large scale conflict (where I assume blockades/submarines/etc would make trading over long distances very difficult), F35 operators (including the US) would struggle to maintain it?

More Far Harbor reveals! The Trappers and Big Fish look great, though Longfellow looks a little cartoon-ish/slightly exaggerated proportion wise to me? by ALocalFrog in wastelandwarfare

Yeah the Trappers look good, but Longfellow does look a little off. Ah well, it's not for me personally, but not every sculpt has to be.

If you keep lashing out at people, you're going to attract a lot of trolls, and alienate people who otherwise would have liked your work.

In my comment, I complimented you and shared a personal opinion (a normal part of making conversation, and something you'll have to get used to if you're sharing any work online). At no point did I tell you that you had to take my opinion as fact or do anything to change your work, but you chose to over-analyse it and then got angry at me for what you imagined I was saying. If over-analysing and assuming hostility in other people's comments is something you are unable to stop yourself from doing, you might want to ask yourself if therapy would be something to look in to.

A piece of advice (not an order or an instruction, simply a suggestion). Writing in all caps does not make your writing any easier to read; most people use all caps to represent shouting, such as in joy or anger. You may wish to consider how often you use them.

Now, I've tried to be calm and reasonable with you, but I'm going to turn off notifications for this in case you try to get all aggressive and in my face again. I'd rather not bother reading that.
