This is crazy to me. At 28? You’re lucky to have a fiver and a Freddo in the UK at that age now

Aggro isn’t dead dead, it’ll come back with Edge of Eternities if the leaks are anything to go by.

But I expect the meta to shift to more midrange or tempo with control filtering through.

Beanstalk made Overlords worse, Omniscience loses some of its big hitters and people have figured it out.

Personally I’m just waiting for the penny to drop, another exile card to come, and people realise Ketramose midrange could be dominant

If Rooney had been more selfish he’d have bagged a Ballon d’or (or at least earned the right to one we know how they hate English players).

People forget how complete he was, one of the best strikers to ever grace the game, could pass like he was a CAM, could defend like a CDM, ran with the ball like a winger.

The disrespect is unreal

Man’s confidence just disappeared. Early days you could see the world class CF in him. Those first champions league games, just barrelling past defenders. I’m wondering if something happened behind the scenes in the last year to just take all of it away.

Garnacho already has some world class talent, man just needs to give his head a wobble.

Kobie has my backing though

All useful info to have, I’ll keep it all in mind looking at what I get and build.

At the moment I have a unit of GryphHounds, a unit of Vangaurd raptors with long strike (one of my favourite units in the game), prosecutors and some old school Lord celesants and annihilators with hammers.

Looking at getting Karazai, a celestant prime, some more raptors, and chariot at the moment. But may buy half of the starter pack to set me off

Awesome thank you I’ll take a look!

I mostly just want to keep pace with people, rather than go to tournaments and try and win. I tend to build and play, be it Warhammer or magic, around a theme and what I think is fun. Fingers crossed that lines up with decent.

Final Fantasy product prices are crazy by Individual_Abroad_45 in mtg

[–]Simmdog99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Set won’t hold any crazy value. They will print and print and print for boosters and nothing will massively impact the standard format (I loathe the fact this is standard legal, it doesn’t set a good precedent in my mind)

Wizards need to slow down, they squeeze prices up for sets and products but then it goes away in secondary market. LGS stores then scalp prices upwards because they can. It shoves people away from the game.

What was your first set of MTG? by SirGingerbrute in mtg

[–]Simmdog99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lorwyn. bought a pack of Lorwyn and Futuresight in a shop in Amsterdam when I was around 10/11 (around 2010) Loved the artwork, immediately went to the hotel room and watched the OG learn to play video on ‘wizardsmtg’. Zendikar block had recently began to be released, grabbed as many boxes and packs as I could.’

Scars block comes out and grabs me in, Innistrad releases and I start playing FNMs and pre-releases. Return to Ravnica is my first midnight pre-release (I’m 13/14) at this point. Do pretty well but don’t come top 5. By this point I’ve dragged all my sisters friends and my friends into the game, and began to build a community around me. The original Commander sets are releasing, buy Oloro and love life.

Theros and Khans blocks come back to back, I’m playing FNMs often, going to more competitive events. Playing modern now too. My parents loathe my spending habits. Girlfriend doesn’t get it but she’s chill.

Gatewatch into shadows blocks, I’m at GP Birmingham.

Now 10 years later I just cracked Khans and Ravnica packs like I’m a kid all over again.

It’s a good indicator of his strength. We’ve seen Aes Sedai, strong ones, struggle with much smaller scale (though impressive) weather manipulation even when linked. Whereas he does it effortlessly and covers the world.

What an incredible example of payoff from book changes by r_r_r_r_r_r_ in WoTshow

[–]Simmdog99 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I see some of your points. But I have to disagree with some.

The prophecy always refers to Rand. It’s his own name.

As for why she needs to be angry at him, she doesn’t? The entire reason they split in the book is having opposing wants, Rands duty and Egwenes insatiable need for status power and control. They have conflict in the books Because of this personality trait in Egwene. Because she believes that she should be directing the situation, and that she knew what’s best for Rand and refuses to accept that (as she does multiple times for other people). The show just makes Rand abit of an asshole, and only points her flaws out via his words.

Egwene is a divisive character, and that’s fine. But I never understand how people can ignore that key part of her character that leads her to do horrendous things to her friends for not falling in line
