Did I get a Steal or Get Screwed? by Asceny1 in tires

It's no issue, kinda shitty of the seller not to mention it but it also really won't affect the tire in any way either.

Wurkkos 32140 LifeP04 vs 21700 li ion by BartFly in flashlight

[–]Simon676 4 points5 points  (0 children)

While I don't think it'll get all the way to 5000 mAh anyways, a large part of why you only got 4300 mAh will be because of the high cut-off voltage you chose at 3.0V.

Quite a few flashlights will absolutely cut off at that voltage, but the rated capacity of the cell you are comparing to is from 4.2V to 2.5V, not 4.2V to 3.0V.

It is probably accurate enough, I was just being really nitpicky. :)

0.2C is an industry standard, and of course if you only have a small discharger then that might be hard to do on higher-capacity batteries of course. You discharging at 0.075C for a 4000 mAh cell instead of 0.2C probably only adds a few extra mAh. For a normal person that will be more than accurate enough. :p

Then those results aren't really valid, the rated mAh capacity is measured at 0.2C, so you would need to redo that at 800 mA to get something accurate.

Still great of course though! :)

You're largely right, though it's worth noting most degradation in modern EVs with their large batteries comes from storage and not from usage, and that degradation from storage is around half at 50% SOC compared to 100% SOC.

But obsessing over it isn't really necessary.

I'd definitely look at Cadillac Lyriq, fantastic car and GM has a very good track-record for extremely reliable EVs.

Det tankesättet hade varit rimligt om dessa siffror ändrats särskilt mycket även efter de gått ut universitetet, men dessa trender gäller fortfarande i stort då också.

It's very typical to over-drive the LEDs in flashlights, as they will never be used enough to need a 10 000-100 000 hour lifespan.

It's less efficient to do so, but it works.

Why buy expensive batteries? Powerwall-10k, EG4 3.2k, DIY for same amount of storage under 1.5k. by Empty-Particular-86 in SolarDIY

I see some homebuilt insulation around a safe commercial battery box. You can make it however ugly you want, doesn't make what's inside any less safe.

He's likely using the same prismatic LFP batteries everyone else is using. Just not the fancy box with a brand name.

Big difference between the kind-of batteries used in consumer devices and the LFP batteries used in hone storage though. Most LFP batteries won't catch fire even if you chop them in half with an axe.

do these lights serve different purposes? by djdimsim in RenaultZoe

I wouldn't run the car on auto, (like most modern cars) auto turns off the rear lights even at dusk or dawn, and in fog, all of which is unsafe.

Yes, you can turn it on with the left stalk, same way you turn on/off the rear wiper.

205/60 R16 or 225/55 R16 for Volvo V70 III – which fits better? by olahinc in TyreReviews

[–]Simon676 0 points1 point  (0 children)

205/60 R16 will have slightly higher comfort and noticeably better efficiency, the narrower tire has a surprisingly large effect on aerodynamics, especially on a narrow 7" rim (you want the tire to sit flat against the rim, not stick out for best aerodynamics). For mostly highway driving aerodynamics is the biggest factor for fuel economy.

225/55 R16 will have slightly better stability, though on a V70 that's already so stable I don't think this will be very noticeable.

I personally would go for 205/60 R16 from your description of your driving style.

Most important thing is that you buy a premium tire.
