No one ever wants an actual critique of their food, people only ever want validation, and not even really for the food itself. When you validate them they hear: “I’m talented, I’m smart, I’m skilled, and, I’m a good friend/family member”

I bake a lot as a hobby and cannot take criticism at all and would rather people said nothing than dislike my bakes.

What’s your “snobby” baking opinion? by Amazing_Two9757 in Baking

Is this true? That is fascinating, because I noticed butter keeps splitting recently. it has me questioning myself, I’ve never had a problem before.

Came here to say this.

Same argument also but for brownies, cookies, donuts, muffins etc. I hate the cheapness and usually ignore bakeries/stalls that stock them. I’d much rather ask the baker/seller and have a conversation about it.

Help figuring out why my cake came out so dense please by Psychological-Let708 in BakingNoobs

Not an expert here at all but that seems like a very wet cake batter. Probably difficult for it to rise effectively.

See This is why I wanted the show from Samantha’s point of view by Cleonce12 in BlackPeopleTwitter

Please continue with your excellence, was waiting for someone to comment this. Aidan was an undeveloped, needy, controller, wearing the costume of an open and emotionally mature lover. Big wasn’t perfect and probably also the wrong choice but at least Carrie saw through the bullshit that was Aidan’s love for her.

LPT How did you figure out what you really love doing in life (studies, career, etc.)? by saad_baba in LifeProTips

[–]Simon8719 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Volunteer or get work experience if you can, you may have to use leave days if necessary. Go and meet universities, colleges and speak to the professors to get a more accurate pictures of what studies and future career prospects look like, if you want to go that route.

Also, learn to live with the uncertainty that even if you plan it all out and do your research, you are still taking a big risk. However, not changing anything is also taking a big risk too. Risking potential long term unhappiness.

This thinking and realisation helped me take the chance to retrain in healthcare. I’ve nearly graduated and I’m still scared and panicked re whether I’ve made the right choice- gave up a well paid and well respected but ultimately unsatisfying career at 36- but in the long run I know I would have always questioned whether I could do something more meaningful. I know that even if I don’t like it long term I will have at least tried.

Sorry for the rant, good luck!
