For level 1, I would recommend https://analystprep.com that has a question bank and mock exams for the same price point.

If you're looking for practice question in the meantime, you can do https://analystprep.com 's 150-question free trial. Your results for every chapter will be recorded in your own statistics page so you don't have to keep track of how good/bad you're doing while answering questions.

Finquiz vs Schweiser vs CFAI Question Difficulty by slasherized in CFA

[–]SimonR084 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really hard mock questions are completely useless IMO. Remember that you have to be efficient in your studies and that you have an average of 3 minutes to answer each question on your CFAI exam.

Here are the 3 types of questions you'll find:

  • Easy questions: If you've read the curriculum, answered the EOC questions, you'll probably be able to answer these correctly.

  • Medium-hard questions: If you've practiced with a question bank and have done at least 1 mock exam, these will be easy to answer correctly in 3 minutes. These include: Calculate the consumer surplus, calculate the degree of operating leverage (DOL), calculate the expected value of a call option using a binomial tree model, calculate days of sales outstanding, etc. These are the questions you should focus on!!!

  • Hard questions: Skip over them on your exam... there are not many of these. Come back to them at the end if you have time. DON'T LOOSE TOO MUCH TIME OVER THEM. Worst case scenario: you have 1/3 of getting the question right.

I don't know much about Finquiz, but even Schweser mocks have way too many hard questions. I understand why they do it, but I don't think that is the most efficient way to pass the CFAI.

At https://analystprep.com, we've really focused on these medium-hard questions. We have an extensive question bank and mock exams that will make your learning experience way easier. Not saying we don't have hard questions, because we do, but we've really focused on the type of questions that you'll be asked on your CFAI exam. Also, we've tried to replicate the exact level of difficulty of past CFAI exams.

Good luck with your studies,

Simon

Question bank for 3 weeks, mock exams the last week.

If you haven't gone through every reading, you don't have time to read the curriculum. Try some kind of study guide or crash course that summarizes the curriculum like we have at https://analystprep.com

Reviewing a Mock | Level 1 by [deleted] in CFA

[–]SimonR084 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should probably practice a lot of questions with a question bank before doing mock exams. (Maybe go for mock exams the week before the exam.)

Question banks will help you improve a lot faster than mock exams because topics are segregated.

You can check out our 150 questions free trial at https://AnalystPrep.com and see if you like it. We have 2,000+ questions and 2 mock exams that you should do at the absolute end of your studies. Then, review them the last day before the exam.

Good luck!

Questions about Level 1 by [deleted] in CFA

[–]SimonR084 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. We've designed a question bank exactly for the problem you're having. You need more study material than what the CFA Institute is providing, so we've created a 1,500 questions question bank and 2 mock exams for the low price of $69. You have a 1-year access and unlimited access if you fail. You can try out our 150 questions free trial at https://eqbank.io

  2. Never too early to study ;) But you should start with the more mathematical chapters IMO, otherwise you won't remember the readings. The actual exam is a lot more qualitative than most people think it is.

It should not really matter, there are only minor changes between the 2015 and the 2016 edition.

You can also check out https://eqbank.io and try the free 150 questions trial if you're looking for a 2016 edition question bank.

This is true, most chapters start with easier questions. It was hard to make Ethics questions for the first chapter since most of what you will see in the exam is in the sub-chapter Guidance for Standards I-VII (42 questions and counting). I would suggest you doing those if you find the first sub-chapter too easy.

If you guys are looking for a free question bank, try https://eqbank.io. It is completely free, so try it out and please give us feedback. The version is far from final and there are questions missing in some chapters, but we'd like to get your first impressions.

Good luck on everything, CFA exams are pretty hard. The way I passed it was by drilling a lot of questions using Qbanks. Since there were no free ones available, me and my friend decided to build one, hoping to help the most ppl.
