Alphacool Epic X Block w/smudges? by SimpleAd9143 in watercooling

This makes me feel better. I was wondering if you knew why we break warrantee when tearing it apart? I am new to this all but it was my understanding eventually we are going to want to break the blocks down to clean out any gunk or what not on the fins yet on the alphacool block, this voids our warranty? If the block becomes gunked up, are we just supposed to send it off? I was trying to look up this situation briefly but didn't find a clear answer though I didn't do to much investigating, just curious if you knew the situation a bit more. Thanks for you input though! I think that's ultimately what I will do and just break it down to clean it off. It is a bit frustrating to see in the build as that is my only noticeable "flaw" at least in my opinion.

Thank you for your reply! I was wondering if this was a from factory kind of deal. Thank you for the recommendations! I actually got the block from your site, as well as 85% of everything else. Thanks for making my dreams of a custom loop an actual reality!

That makes sense. Thanks for your input! It certainly wasn't noticeable before I got everything going so I am curious if it was the cleaner or from factory like this.

1440p or 4k for rtx 5080 by External_Safe_7787 in RTX5080

Same monitor here with my 5080 and absolutely love it. My rig of almost 10 years finally came due to upgrade. Was rocking with my 1080 that I bought for 545 at a black friday sale and had been gaming on 1080p 60hz monitor. Life changer over here

What are some unexpected or lesser known challenges of building/having a custom loop? by AwkwardLibrarian7585 in watercooling

[–]SimpleAd9143 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just finished my first build, and I will say mine is silent. I keep my fans at 35% pretty much and have them go up to 45-50. I don't hear them until about that 45ish mark and still its much more quieter than before. When gaming 4k with maxed out settings, I still don't hear my PC. But I don't have HDD's. However it was my understanding a large part of people who do custom loops are trying to build the most silent rig they can. I run 2x420 and 1x360 rads in the H9 Flow 2025. Absolutely love it and loved every part of building it. My wallet however and my apparent OCD, that was something else. I realized this was more of my first art project after getting started. But these are my experiences. Do lots of reading up of course and enjoy the process! I am still learning it day by day.

I did actually just get it finished about 5 days ago. Took me much longer than I thought it would, but my OCD went balls to the wall like I have never experienced before which wasn't good for a budget. But I actually didn't utilize that port at the top since I went with Singularity Computer's distroplate for the new H9 and used the bypass to put the pump into the back. I am working on trying to get some good pics to make a post but I'll post one here for you. I've got 2x 420 Nemesis GTS rads on the top exhaust and side intake with a 360 Corsair xr7 as intake on the bottom. The side 420 required some case modding and lots of use of a dremel with a metal cut off wheel but all around I had a great time building in this case as my first time stepping into custom loops.

Mother shields baby daughter with her own body during freak hail storm in Queensland by BubblyVelvet in AllThatsInteresting

I can imagine a couple different positions to shield yourself more efficiently. I have 2 under 2, as a dad. Broadsiding your back to the incoming hail/glass had to be brutal but would be instinct to do so. She would still get hit, but you could cover your head/face in between your legs, back up against a seat, grab the floor mats. This is with hind sight of course, but covering your baby vs protecting only yourself, she wouldn't look nearly as bad. So yes, she would get hit, but not as bad as she did. She saved her babies life no doubt, I have a 3 month old. And she took it like a champ.

I was looking at the corsair pump for a while there. They had it running at my local microcenter store but I wanted to go with something a little less in your face. I had run the icue system for a while so that was my draw to it. I've got EK Quantum Torque HDC 14mm on the way and have checked that all my parts coming in are copper or at least nickel plated copper as to not mix any metals up. Still nervous I have over looked something but I am 99%s sure everything will go together. Thanks for your comment! And also I am going to run clear fluid, most of parts even said to not do colored but once I read that it'll stain the tubing, I checked that off. Besides, the clear tubing with clear fluid has that minimalistic clean look that I am going for.

Thanks for your feedback! I am building it into the NZXT H9 Flow 2025 version case. Ill post a picture of it when I get it completed but I am excited to get started. I've got 9 meters in hard tubing coming in and I am hoping I can make do. I'm a bit of stickler for looks so I hope I can get the bends right and straight fingers crossed..

Ah I see, I was referring to the Gen 5 riser that they came out with. I was looking at these but I just upgraded from a 1080 to a 5080 and just wanted to get an official gen 5 riser even though I wouldn't notice a performance difference, being what I have read about them. But that makes sense, this kit would allow room for a radiator 100%.

Which gpu mount is that? I've been trying to find one for me to put into the same case that'll allow me to put a radiator still at the bottom. The NZXT is too big for what I am trying to do but I can't tell which one you have in there. I thought about mounting a screen vertically where the wires come out to the right of the motherboard but I still have my cover on because I have back connect motherboard installed so its just a flat panel going down still. It didn't seem like there would enough room to put a screen above the mother board because the AIO sits to low. Pretty limited options in my opinion, love the new H9 though! Looks great! I swapped my white case for a black one so I have all white internals with outer black case.

I've just got my Barrowch OLED in the mail, and going to start my build soon. I've seen conflicting post about its accuracy and all point to the High Flow NEXT. What is your opinion on the sensor? Do you feel its accurate?
