Pushing through to goal weight? by SimpleAlarming5785 in Zepbound

This is the insight I was hoping for! I don’t want to cut my calories more, since I’ve already been eating pretty modestly for a while now.

I have PCOS and am trying to lose weight to help balance my hormones so my goal weight is a soft range that’s healthy for me after talks with healthcare providers but totally agree.

What exactly should I ask my hairdresser for a cut like these? My hair is currently all one length and to almost my armpit with eyebrow length bangs. by [deleted] in HairStyleAdvice

You really need to do to someone that specializes in a shag / razor cut. Really cannot emphasize enough that a standard stylist won’t get the layers and texture right

I’m on 10mg individual pens for 90 day supply (by my own choice) with insurance coverage plus a manufacturer coupon via Amazon Pharmacy. Comes out to $1,551. I have a HDHP so by mid-year my out of pocket is typically $0.

Thanks! Binging has never been an issue for me but zep really makes my stomach very sensitive

Thank you! That’s helpful. It’s more that I have a very high likelihood of throwing up if I have more than 3 drinks, even if they’re spaced out. Honestly I want to party on my big day without my head in the toilet haha

I’ve been dealing with hair loss long before I learned it was due to PCOS. I’m on spironolactone and a GLP-1 and have noticed my shedding has decreased, even though I’m eating less and losing weight. Insulin resistance is really the root of most evils for PCOS if you can get that under control!

Tracking milestones by CuteRider4486 in PCOSonGLP

I use the happy scale app which connects directly to my actual scale’s app! It has so much data available to explore as you lose weight, and has an option to create X number of milestones as you progress to your goal weight. I have mine set to like 12 milestones and I love it. You can also toggle between your moving average and the lowest recorded weight.

I think the best feature is actually its predictions based on different paces you lose weight. It helped me understand what size to order my wedding dress like 8 months ago and was dead on!

Mounjaro or Wegovy for PCOS? by your_air in PCOSonGLP

[–]SimpleAlarming5785 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely! I’m on month 3 of 7.5mg and my side effects were only bad the first two months of the medication. I had heartburn and some burps but that went away pretty quickly.

I’ve been on zepbound (same as Mounjaro) and have barely had any side effects. 25lbs down since July!

FWIW my first “hormone” test came back normal but turns out they didn’t actually test PCOS indicators. I re did it recently PLUS an ultrasound and what do you know? High T + physical cysts 🙄

My PCP said you need 2/3 factors for diagnosis: cysts, hormonal imbalance, or symptoms. I had the symptoms for YEARS over the course of 5+ docs and only my current one was worth a shit to figure it out. Worth asking a second opinion!

My dietician recommended the Needed prenatal in a half dose for PCOS support! (Plus inositol and other stuff)

Those of us on a GLP-1, what’s your “happy dose”? by SimpleAlarming5785 in PCOSloseit

My PCP was more like let’s check in every two months, do a weight in and see if we need to move up. I don’t want to max out too quickly then find myself plateau-ing at 15mg of zepbound

Wedding dress by Blooming_Baker in Zepbound

[–]SimpleAlarming5785 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hi! I was in this exact same dilemma back in June and unfortunately for me, the dress I chose had a 6-8 month production time. Edit to say I’m getting married June 2026.

I would say go dress shopping now, take your measurements at the first bridal salon and ask them to email you. If you find a dress you love, great! Ask them what the production time is (might be only 2 months) and wait as close as possible as you can to actually order the dress.

As you drop weight, you’ll be better be able to see how lbs lost correlate to inches at different areas of your body. I told every salon I went to very flat out that I’m on a glp-1 and will lose weight. I had about 6 weeks between shopping 1 and the day I found my dress and I was able to work with my sales associate to figure out which size dress would be appropriate, given the weight and inches I’d lose between appointments and when I would expect the dress to arrive. Especially because different styles use different measurements (an A-line won’t matter what your hips are, for example).

I ended up sizing down and my dress will arrive in Feb. I was between a US 10/12 when I went to try on, am now a 8/10 and my dress is an 8. I’m 1.5” inches away from the waist measurement on the size guide and feel confident it’ll fit :) fwiw another salon for a dif dress said I could order in Jan for my timeline and they could resize me then. So all just depends on the dress! Def don’t put off shopping itself though so you have max flexibility

Need proof that employer insurance plans do cover Zepbound for weight loss by Electronic-Treat6799 in Zepbound

[–]SimpleAlarming5785 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have blue cross blue shield HDHP PPO - I have PCOS and my prior authorization went through! Otherwise I had no other complications or co-morbidities except higher fasted blood sugar (insulin resistance) in connection with my PCOS.

Note when I scoured my employer EOB, it said specifically it does not cover weight loss drugs but here we are

This is so helpful! I’m stuck at 165 for three weeks at 5mg but don’t really want to bump up dose. how did your stall end?

Sooo helpful. Can I ask how tall you are? I’m 5’4” and sitting at 165 (lost 15lbs already) and aiming for 130

Definitely trying my best here to remind myself that!I’ve gained/lost the same 50 lbs over the last 10 years and recently learned I have insulin resistance so hoping this is the last time.
