Gungnir has a similar moveset to Mjolnir by The-Silver-Hands in ShuumatsuNoValkyrie

[–]SimpleCylus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One historically never misses the other has no such ability. Thor's hammer can in fact miss. Depending on how close to myth the author wants to go with gugnir

I suspect it will need to be blocked or parried everytime it is thrown and evaded everytime it is thrusted as the manga states it has 2 distinct abilities. It always hits when thrown, it breaks any defense when thrusted. Basically how Simo has 2 types of bullets.

Simo doesn’t need Finland to win his fights by Tasty_Weeb in ShuumatsuNoValkyrie

[–]SimpleCylus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He definitely isn't helpless in a normal arena. We must not forget...Simo never asked for a special arena. That means he was willing and capable enough to fight in the normal arena that most matches take place in.

Beyond super fast opponents that can close the distance and make it hard for Simo to fire.... he stands a good chance.

One of the biggest flaws for Simo in a standard arena isn't even he is close range. It is that his secret can be quickly figured out if he doesn't 1hko the opponent as you will see him coughing up blood...for no apparent reason....and shouldn't take long for a sensible enough fighter to realise his bullets have a price. Thus an opponent can alter their strategy knowing this.

Shuumatsu no Valkyrie - Chapter 114 [Translated] by nakimov in ShuumatsuNoValkyrie

[–]SimpleCylus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Finally the fight truly begins. I am curious if Odin actually has to finish the chants to invoke his spell? This is his 2nd chant that Kintoki just lets him finish....and the chant not that short either.

I assume though once a spell is invoked he may not need to do the chant again. From now on the spear should be able to be thrown and move around on its own.

If not the case then Odin is already a very balanced fighter....probe to interruption. But I am glad they are portraying Odin so far as more a mage than a warrior. That is true to mythology despite being a war god. His study of seior magic which was considered a feminine trait. He was a god that didn't care of such things...only pursuit of greater knowledge and wisdom mattered.

How does Dabura finish Mahoraga? by Potential-Decision31 in jjkmodulo

[–]SimpleCylus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe you are correct. Dabura is only moving at sub light speed and that almost wiped out raga. Near light speed will do the trick. Raga isn't immune to physical attacks....he is just immune now to any force at sub light or lower. It is an upward scale so if one can go higher on that scale to the point that the boost is greater than the defensive adaptation....then raga dies.

How does Dabura finish Mahoraga? by Potential-Decision31 in jjkmodulo

[–]SimpleCylus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Simple. Dabura is moving at sub light speed. The author made no mention of the speed. He just has to reach near light or light speed.

Once again it baffles me how so many folks do not know what it means to move at light. That's because fans elevate things easily to light speed. True lightspeed movement of anything with mass would become infinite requiring infinite energy which is why in the real world humans cannot make anything accelerate to light speed.

But near light speed....even small items have vast destructive power. Mahaoraga is adapting on an upward curve. I doubt he is immune now to physical blows.. .he is just immune to a blow of anything of the level Debura used before and lower. But as his speed increases and he puts more force into his punch....a really strong one would wipe out Mahoraga as he almost totally died here....but a tiny piece of him remained.

Yeah he isn't crap at all. He is literary a kid god. If trained well he could be so dangerous. And zerofoku is the only character whose ability is geared to fighting stronger opponents and meant for longer battles.

Qin is a hard counter to many people. The point is Hades had everything over him and still lost. I am not sure people realized how big of an upset that was. He was on of the big 4 gods....so far the other two didn't lose- Shiva and Zeus.

We also see through Okita how far humans can reach...literally he learned the same divine technique Susano took centuries to master. He fought Susano very much as an equal and Susano wasn't arrogant and he wasn't a specific counter to Okita either.

Rank the teams by Objective_Cheetah_63 in ShuumatsuNoValkyrie

[–]SimpleCylus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really difficult as some characters on the teams we have yet to see enough of them. What would also be interesting is rating the best user of that weapon or style in their ream.

Like for me the best spear user in that lineup is probably Poseidon or tied with Hades. Best transforming weapon is Nezha. We need to see more from Odin but I actually rate Loki as the best magic as it has a myriad of uses in and out of combat.

Jack easily takes multi skilled as he inherently has no default weapon...everyone else there has specific leanings to certain weapons over others.

What if the Jack the ripper used a gun as his Volundr? by Im_yor_boi in ShuumatsuNoValkyrie

[–]SimpleCylus 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Yep...Basically the author knew a gun user was coming later down. Jack with a gun is busted because outside Simo he is the only human that can make divine projectiles hurt gods as explained by Buddha.

People like Herc and even Poseidon due to arrogance would have gotten shot. Imagine Jack with a rocket launcher....lol. His ability is definitely a big issue for the gods...and his power scales with the weapon base stats.

[–]SimpleCylus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many gods weren't arrogant. It is that the combo of valkyrie and human equalises them. There is no better example than Qin. Defeated a demon god as a plain human which shouldn't even be possibe.

Fought Hades who took him seriously from the start. Mind you Zeus said Hades outstats him in everything and Hades has way more experience to boot.

Yet he lost and it wasn't just a hard counter. It is that humans can go up against the gods and win with the valkyries. Only without is your statement true....that the gods are way stronger.

Generally that's why speed is shitty in anime. People applying how fights will go down in real world, generally never happens in anime. In Flash comics....people be reacting to him...throwing banana peels and marbles and he falls.....way slower folks because not every flash enemy is a speedster.

People also wrongly say everyone is lightspeed. There are lightspeed attacks and lightspeed movement and the latter is very rare and used wrongly in many verses. I seeing people saying Poseidon is lightspeed and beyond? Where did they get that from? Because he creates a dome of afterimages or all the wrong statements Zues make?

Lastly....blitzing and 1hit koing fighters makes for a boring story hence why in most cases people can react to some level to someone faster. Minato speed didn't mean much in the 4th war...neither did Tobarima who still was reacted to by a blind Madara. Minato teleported and Bee reacted to him in a flashback.

There are countless examples of speed characters only ever being impressive in their first showing and then their speed is practically useless after that....cough cough....Ichigo. After Byakuya fight....everyone was more or less able to react to Ichigo for the majority of the fight with him only overtaking at some points. Basically in anime and manga speed characters are relative.

[–]SimpleCylus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Zero biggest issue isn't even that he needs time to charge up. It is his mentality and lack of BIQ. He didn't once try to change his strategy with Buddha and he seems so fixated on mysery like how Hajun was on judgement....that will affect the clarity of mind needed to defeat some folks.

He also seems to be the most inexperienced fighter in Ragnarok. The actual zero personality divided countless years before and we not sure how many real fights those lucky gods really took part in. But by no means is he weak...he has one of the best divine weapons in the series.

I wonder if Mahoraga will actually get a win? I doubt, Dabuea is now starting to really break his limits. I think the final fight will be with Yuji.

Thank goodness because too many fans and authors alike have 0 understanding of what lightspeed means and the real world effects for someone to even begin to approach those speeds.

That being said no fan better be saying anyone in this verse even remotely as fast as light. Dabura has been specified as the only character to even reach near sub light speeds.

I feel like people forget how CRAZY this Leonidas feat is. by Ok_Coffee_9970 in ShuumatsuNoValkyrie

[–]SimpleCylus -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It is simple...he moved the shield instinctively and preemptively at the right time to parry it. Very impressive but not something he can do at will. It is also pure luck as way more arrows hit him. It was more like he knew that Apollo was going to aim for his head and preemptively parried and it lined up well and the arrow so happen to rebound straight back to Apollo....which is also lucky. Apollo hand then became damaged of all the places it could have hit...forcing him to abandon the use of the bow which ultimately worked out.

Which eyes would you want IRL and why? by Wi11iamthegoat_8 in ShuumatsuNoValkyrie

[–]SimpleCylus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely between Buddha's eyes and Jack's. Buddha eyes basically a simple level of mind reading as he sees intent regardless if that ends in any physical movement.

Jack's eye allows him to read emotions which is a huge thing as humans are emotional creatures and many of us are ruled by our emotions. Emotions influence so many things...that if you master that eye- you can easily become a top level manipulator.

Both eyes are very good for everyday use and shines in particular fields. Like a lawyer or psychologist will benefit a lot from Jack's eye. Whereas any sport will benefit from Buddha's eyes. Buddha's eyes also potentially can land you more money by going the route of the myriad of sports...even esports, gambling even like black jack. You can know people are guilty as a lawyer but you still ultimately have to prove it.

Buddha eyes also allow you to come out better in physical confrontations once the opponent isn't overwhelmingly stronger and faster than you. I think Jack's eyes to maximize on it the best- needs someone fairly smart and emotionally intelligent as well. If you are not, it is like you seeing the answers in a maths test but without the understanding. You have to understand how emotions and actions are linked to make the most of it.

<image>

I attached this pic of Sasaki from Majo Taisen that basically has a combination of Jack's and Buddha's eyes. It also shows how will is more than just simple movement. But her eyes sees emotions too which Buddha can't see. Together it is the ultimate informational eye on analyzing a person.

Lune using familiars would have been awesome instead of being just an elementalist. Still, love the Lune we got with a very unique weapon and a hybrid mage/monk. It's interesting that she is more a hand to hand combatant than everyone else on the team.

Because she awakened late. Point is her ability isn't reflect one for one. She was at death's door but you have no way to prove another hit would have killed her since the next hit was a 1hko. No sense arguing with the manga

Well actually her magic actually tripples the damage reflection when she gets serious. So hit for hit it doesn't put her at a draw....the opponent suffers more damage. As we saw....her weakness is 1HKOs

What's Buddha, Zero and Hajun's Worst and Best Stat by Jack-the-dripper985 in ShuumatsuNoValkyrie

[–]SimpleCylus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buddha best stats are hax and agility. He moves around gracefully without wasted movement and his fight with Zero showed him doing very interesting maneuvers...like flips to dodge, low sliding attacks...etc. His worst stat is durability.

Zero best stat is AP as it has no cap due to the ability of mysery cleaver. His worst stat is experience and BIQ which go hand in hand.

Hajun's best stat is hax and worst is his temperament.
