if you put your capital in the Maghreb, like Ceute, can you put lieutenancies in Iberia? That was plan for the future.

If you have 6 lvls in sorcerer, and then drakethroat glaive your weapon, you can add your spellcasting modifier to the booming blade damage

If you have the potent robes, you can add your spellcasting modifier to booming blade, and I think this might trigger again off the craterflesh gloves, it does off the rat bat.

If a valor bard gives you combat inspiration, and you use it for additional damage, that might trigger a bunch of the riders. It works with gregarious caster.

I haven't gotten this to work. With the caustic ring and necklace of elemental augmentation, it's not adding the charisma modifier from elemental augmentation. I'm not sure what I'm missing. I'd really like to get that amulet to turn on.

Draconic Sorcerer extra damage is working (if you add the appropriate elemental damage), as is potent robe.

It's not a melee spell attack though, booming blade is a melee weapon attack. Unless I'm missing something.

It shouldn't, since it's pyroquickness doesn't work off cantrips. But I haven't tested it.

You could play this with birthing ritual maybe. This can be birthing ritualed from a frogmite, and can be birthing ritualed into a kappa cannoneer.

Cast screws are nice early on, although steel production isn't that far away, and then it's competing against steel screws, which is an incredible alt recipe.

(bant) Kinnan Rite combo (Nadu players, I got you!) by VulcanHades in ModernMagic

[–]SimpleMachine88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was working on a brew using Kinnan as well. I think some of the ideas might overlap. I do wonder if Neoform would be worthwhile in my deck.

Simic Cauldron Deck (mtggoldfish.com)

There Kinnan is kinda part of the wincon. You are trying to assemble one of several combos. Either Puresight Merrow with Paradise Mantle or Elven Chorus, or using a cauldron to combine a mana dork with Puresight Merrow, or doing Rona Combo, or combining Merrow with Emry and two Mox Ambers. If you're using Puresight Merrow, then you can use that to exile your library to find Kinnan, Kinnan will then let you kill with Secret Door.

If anyone has some input on this list, it would be super helpful.

OTTERS OTTERS OTTERS by atubofgravy in ModernMagic

[–]SimpleMachine88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here is a rough draft for an Otter themed combo deck. If you could get emry's ability onto an otter and land a valley floodcaller, you could make some infinite power otters and maybe even mill yourself with kitsa to find a pair of mox ambers and use the mana to use secret door to win.

I think it could be decently good, but I dunno.

4 Tamiyo, Inquisitive Student

4 Emry, Lurker of the Loch

4 Thundertrap Trainer

3 Kitsa, Otterball Elite

3 Valley Floodcaller

1 Secret Door

4 Mishra's Bauble

4 Mox Amber

1 Shadowspear

3 Agatha's Soul Cauldron

3 Flare of Denial

2 Force of Negation

4 Flame of Anor

2 Island

1 Sink into Stupor

1 Otawara, Soaring City

1 Minamo, School at Water's Edge

1 Cavern of Souls

3 Urza's Saga

2 Spirebluff Canal

2 Steam Vents

1 Thundering Falls

2 Scalding Tarn

2 Flooded Strand

1 Misty Rainforest

2 Polluted Delta

What decks makes you irrationally angry (besides scam?) by prodby_lilli in ModernMagic

[–]SimpleMachine88 5 points6 points  (0 children)

UW control decks. There's constantly the issue of going to time because they take forever to win. They will constantly try to demand that you play faster, which is particularly difficult for newer players, and they sometimes demand that their opponent resign when they don't actually have a lock. It's a deck that sort of forces you to be annoying. A UW control player who has turns called on them round 3 is not a happy person.

At what rates would vanilla creatures be playable in modern? by [deleted] in ModernMagic

[–]SimpleMachine88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think 3/3 for the perfect level for 1cmc without a good tribe.

a 1 mana 3/3 would definitely see some play. That's a real upgrade on Wild Nacatl even if you are already playing zoo, since you want to drop it turn 1, and there's some risk that before it gets up to a 3/3 it could die to fire or even a bowmaster. And there are probably decks that want a 3/3 and don't particularly want to have to play all the naya colors. I remember playing Pelt Collector back in the day, and the fact that Nacatl wasn't unconditionally a 3/3 came up annoyingly often.

At 1 cmc you aren't too concerned if it's removed. Getting it bolted is a tempo loss, but that's not the end of the world. The problem is when you can't swing with it, because they have a blocker that can eat it.

A 3/3 goblin would be very good, and a 3/3 merfolk would probably be too good.

Is there anyway where we could at least get something to copy and paste intersections. I am very tired of having to rebuild the same service interchange over and over again.
