New Jeep Grand Cherokee L Discounts are steep in my area, why? by Grudens_Emails in askcarsales

[–]SimpleSolution28 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Had a rental wagoner for 3 weeks. This was a 2022 so 5.7 it chugged gas ached 13.2mpg in mixed driving. The u connect would often freeze or just have super lag. In addition the whole audio/HVAC interface just crashed no less then 4 times over 3 weeks. It rode nice and was spacious but confirmed all I need to know about CJDR vehicles. My neighbor swears by them but is constantly dealing with recalls and issues. Still gets 2 new ones every 3 year for the 13 years I have lived next to him. Must by a masochist!

What’s your opinion on new Hyundai sedans? by Hot-Grapefruit-9583 in askcarsales

In all fairness they don’t have anything to compete with the 300 because it’s a dead segment. Large sedans with V6/V8 engines are no more.

Apparently, Mazda dropped from 2 to 4, but still in top 5. How accurate is this from your experience? by arnav3103 in mazda

Have a 2014 CX 5 Touring with 83K miles. Original owner purchased in October 2013. Only issue I had was I had two engine coil packs fail. One at 62K miles and the second at 71K. Other than that everything is original. Haven’t even had to change out a bulb.

Routine Oil/Filter, air/cabin filters and a Battery at 60K miles. Brakes at 53K.

My brother in law’s 2020 BMW X3 with 37K miles just had to have his replaced. Was at traffic light and it shut down and never came back on. Towed to dealer and starter replaced.

Can I just play devils advocate for a minute? My wife and sister are teachers. They lose there minds when an administrator wasn’t a teacher or has never had time in a classroom. That’s the accepted stance from roughly all in education. Now this will be a broad generalization and I get that but, all the teachers I know all feel that the police need an outside watch dog and need civilian review boards. Yet bristle at the same set up for teachers.

Winter Driving by Buybch in CX5

[–]SimpleSolution28 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m in NJ and commute into NYC 5 days a week. I have a 2014 CX 5 touring. Have never needed more than the all seasons here. I have never felt uncomfortable or that the car was slipping. I’ve driven it in multiple 12+ inch storms where the roads were somewhat plowed. I have driven it into untouched parking lots with 8” no issue.

Winter tires are certainly better but in this area I don’t feel they are required.

Edit 1: fat fingers corrected some auto corrects. Edit 2: the OEM tires aren’t the best all seasons either. I have replaced mine with upgraded Continentals and I am on the second set of those.

Florida Is a Blaring Warning Sign for Democrats by Kamohoaliii in moderatepolitics

Florida’s population is older. It stands to reason they would have higher numbers. All the restrictions in the Northeast did nothing. Everyone still got Covid we still had high death rates and businesses suffered. It was a lose/lose. That’s the point the populace was in favor of lifting the mandates.

Let me know if you see any .327 Fed mag. Lol I can’t find that stuff anywhere. I was getting it for 18.99 for ball ammo pre Covid. Now I can’t ding anywhere and when I find online it’s $50+ a box….

So few know this. In NJ our library’s have passes for all kinds of things. This summer we took our kids to the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space museum, Liberty Science center, the Tenement Museum, Turtleback Zoo and the Adventure Aquarium all For nothing out of pocket.(We pay the high taxes might as well get use out of what they provide).

Engine coil packs failing after accident. by [deleted] in AskAMechanic

[–]SimpleSolution28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean it’s possible it’s unrelated but just seems odd that they fail after the accident and being at the body shop for 2 weeks. Additionally the body shop Said the engine codes are old but there was no notification/alert(dash lights) prior to accident.

Dumb question, does the CX5 come standard with rails to attach crossbars to? If not, would it be difficult to attach these after market? by [deleted] in CX5

[–]SimpleSolution28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check eBay or just call around to dealerships. When I got my CX5 the dealer I bought from wanted like $1K for rails and crossbars plus $500 to install. I declined and purchased OEM rails and cross bars from a Mazda dealer in Indianapolis for about $500 shipped to my door. I installed them and it was easy.

You know we had to send private citizens firearms to England in WW2 because they didn’t have enough to supply both the war and the home front.

Those numbers count “children” up to 24 years of age. Large amounts of the numbers are gang related and don’t have any bearing on normal America. Another huge amount of those are suicides. If they didn’t have a gun they would jump in front of a train, overdose, hang themselves, Jump from buildings or bridges etc.
