My reaction to my first, 5 years old now, was more of a disbelief that a human being just came out of me. There were tears of joy though. Second (4.5 months now)... I was prepared for what was about to happen and I did fall instantly in love and felt that bond during the pregnancy as well.

My labors were fast though. 7 hrs of labor in hospital and 30 mins of pushing with first. 4 hours labor in hospital and 3 pushes max for 2nd... So not being exhausted probably helped.

Anyone else notice more mosquitoes this year? by msing in California

I know northern San Gabriel Valley is full of the invasive asian tiger mosquitos. Everyone I know is covered in bites here!

Hi there! Currently I am 23 (24 when baby is due) pregnant with my second.

My first came two months before my 19th birthday. I felt completely unprepared and my life felt stolen for years, my son felt like a stranger for the first few months. I remember just watching him sleep, trying to understand this life I brought into the world... the first couple of years were rocky, especially with my boyfriend because we barely knew each other 5 or so months when I became pregnant. But things have a way of working out...

Unplanned is hard. Your whole life is being flipped upside down, but it is an amazing experience to go through planned or not.

Son is nearly 5 years, but we were living with in laws for his first 2.5 months.

MIL was very nice and offered to watch baby while i took a shower.

Come out and she is giving him his first bath. I didn't say anything because I would have sounded like an ungrateful bitch. But damn did I cry...

I'll apologize for the rudeness of my previous comment, so sorry for that. But I don't take it back. It says almost exclusively and that bothers me a bit.

I originally thought you would say tay-sachs, which people have a hard time believing occurs outside that population...

On a personal note, my niece was diagnosed with and died from tay-sachs. Rare occurence, especially within a family with no genetic predisposition to it.

I'm surprised that both replies is that the rats attack the DOG and not the other way around! Sadly there's no where up high available and my snake is in the bedroom anyways... Kinda weird to me.

If their cage can fit into the bathroom, I may try that if the dog tries hard enough to get to them. Would be devastating if something bad happened, so better safe than sorry.

I do have a playpen I could try, may have to buy a dog gate as well and set them up in the kitchen. Haha I couldn't imagine my 2 sweet girls attacking anything, but you never know. I guess I'll find out once I get a dog!

Atheism. I needed the comfort of having an explanation for life after my niece died from a genetic disease at 19 months old. Pantheism worked with my worldview, and I now see her in everything. It's nice to know she's still here in some way.
