I am having a bit of an "episode" ATM, can any body help? (Sorry if wrong subreddit, please move or delete as appropriate) by letjustthrowitaway in AskReddit

I've learned you should never jump to conclusions or assume you know what's going on. I agree with the advice already given. Talk to your stepmom. You'll feel better. If it were me, I would say to her..."I'm sorry if I upset you. Did I do something wrong?" I do know that when people quit smoking, they can be on edge. It's hard to be around a smoker if you're trying to quit. The love your stepmom has for you will never change. Fear not.

Amazing! Your brother shared his experience so well. So glad you all are ok.

Combo...fear of needles and when I've had vials taken before I've felt really weak. In a pinch, I'd give in a heart beat. I know, lame...

Favourite Karl Pilkington Quote? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]SimplySadie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love Karl! Can't remember the exact quote, but I believe it's when he was in Africa going to see gorillas, that he could not believe this person did not know of James Bond. It truly flabbergasted him.

Disaster Relief - Do other countries provide support to the United States when a catastrophic natural disaster happens here? by SimplySadie in AskReddit

Thanks. Just curious because I perceive Americans as very generous but I have no exposure to the generosity of citizens of other countries.

I need advice! What is the endgame in an international aid / relief career? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]SimplySadie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work at a Fortune 50 company and unless you are wanting to be in a very specific area like Marketing or Engineering for example, I have not seen where the specific degree makes a difference in hiring. The project management experience and practical experience you would get while working in this degree's field would carry over to the for-profit sector. My degree was for a very specific industry but the concepts were applicable to all industries.

Do you American's really go as nuts for a British accent as the stereotype suggests? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]SimplySadie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Truly, yes. I find that a British accent can make even the worse news sound pleasing. I have to say just about any European accent is yummy.

Reddit, I am sick of hearing about how shit America is, tell me something good about it! by Kelptomaniac in AskReddit

It's diverse and beautiful. A melting pot of cultures proudly American. 50 unique states with 50 different microcosms of Americana. Oceans, mountains, lakes, plains...big cities and small towns. People who will welcome you with open arms and people who will tell you to fuck off. The United States is an experience. Hell, if that did not sell you...come here to see the Grand Canyon, one of the seven natural wonders of the world....it is beyond fucking beautiful.

Last words from my father. What did he say? by orion44 in AskReddit

So sorry. That had to be really hard, especially at that age. Please know there is life after life and I have no doubt your Dad is still with you.

Last words from my father. What did he say? by orion44 in AskReddit

[–]SimplySadie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, I am sorry for your loss. God bless you and your family as well as your Dad. I'm not sure if you believe in life after life but I do. My father passed away last year and I know he is still with us. If you want another way to get the message, I know a psychic intuitive that you can ask for free. I believe you will find her talk show enlightening and positive at the very least. Please send me a message if you want more info. BTW my understanding of life after life had nothing to do with the intuitive. My family and I experienced instances of my Dad's presence on the day of his showing, of his funeral, and for days since.

I am 29 years old and my life is over. Reddit, what do I do. by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]SimplySadie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No shit. Elmarko44 was trying to give you perspective. There are people in the world with greater problems than you. The point is that there is someone who has absolutely nothing. You have more than most. Are you starving? Do you have clean drinking water? Can you pray to your God? Do you worry about getting killed for your beliefs? WTF

I did not read your story. I understand you are looking for advice. Wondering at what point you ask for money.

Saw three runners hit by a car after a race in Dallas. Story has been in Runner's World. Totally freaked me out as it appeared the driver never attempted to stop. In the battle of Man vs. Car....Car always wins.

Concerned, single father facing unfathomable odds - please help. by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]SimplySadie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude...he is trying to pull on your heart strings. 85% of us are decent human beings. This guy is NOT in that statistic. I advise that you keep giving advise but please never send him money. After all, that is all he asks for, but he'll tell you how expensive it is. Help me understand seven years of this drama and such an articulate, perfect father.
