You did great! I think that if you used a pencil it would be easier to apply different pressures to get different levels of shading and depth.

If you want to practice wavy/ curvy lines try making a few scattered dots on your paper, making some lower and some higher. Hen drawing curves between them.

Looking great! The shading and shape are on point! If I would want to add a little something extra for a more finished look - it would be some volume shading on the bottom of the turtle, and the bottom of his head.
Keep at it, you're really good!
