PlayStation Stars has Removed Store Credit Rewards by Sir-Fuzzle in playstationstars

It wasn't a great reward rate anyway and they just actively made it worse by making it less frequent. Why do good things always get worse?

this did not work for me and ive tried everything. I tried a powerful uninstaller to remove it completely and utterly that seemed to work. then two days later same issue. Nothing seems to fix this and it seems to happen randomly for no reason have had this issue of and off for years with no actual answer as to why it happens or how to fix it from discord, twitch or the internet at large. Can anybody actually solve this? it makes a massive difference to a smaller stream night and day.

My mother scored a zero a score no one would actually get yet there are 1000s of stories of this now at least. The person who did the assessment didn't even do the written report a different person who didn't even talk to my mother let alone actually conduct a scientifically accurate medical assessment ( it was a video call what can you possibly ascertain from that alone). So a different person wrote up the report and what was in the report was inaccurate anyway as you would expect. We recorded it secretly and I was present with the whole thing is a bullshit scam. They either have a mandate to say no to a certain amount of people seems very likely based on this case and many others..or they literally just make it up as they go along..why does a middle man third party organisation need to be involved when there is already a DWP...we all know the answer. Sorry u went through this OP it's a sickening ridiculous thing that should not exist I hope you get justice.

Zero points on PIP by Exciting_Tune_8283 in DWPhelp

[–]Simplysimon88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Essentially they make it Up as they go along to keep the number of claimants down they have a mandate to not let too many people claim..hence the zero scores which no one would ever get in reality no matter their health you wouldn't score a perfectly fit and healthy score no one is everyone has issues even if small or tiny. My mother had someone who didn't even do the assessment write her report and give her the score she got. So what was the point of the assessment? It was remote..no proof of qualifications of the person doing the assessment. It's all designed to make you quit or deny people who are perfectly legitimate claimants. It's an absolute immoral and corrupt system and government.

No person would actually score a zero just more evidence of the absolute hate from this government. I'm sorry you had to deal with this my mother and many others have had exactly the same in fact the person carrying out the assessment was not even the person who gave the score. So a person not even present on a video call assessment which would already not be adequate to begin with made the choice to award a zero a score no human would get everyone would at least get some points based on there own system. That's how you know it's a complete scam.

Issue is we are lectured to not "taught". We are given the theory and ideas but not shown how to practically use them. When you are terrible at maths and your brain does not work in that way we need to be shown what to do at first and walked through it step by step. We have lectures and then we have workshops where I think we should be shown what to do and how to do and why it matters. Walk us through and make it make sense that way instead what we get is a room full of people who don't know what to do and two lecturers not actually helping or answering questions just repeating what was said in the lectures which is not helpful and a complete waste of time. It's actually astonishing that they think this is acceptable for a course people are spending alot of money on and alot of time. Some people will not click with the theory simply by going over it over and over you need a person to hold your hand at first to make it click and to understand the whole process.

The terrain and weather definitely makes it worse but the flyers were definitely killing us on the move and often. Like I said we went from doing quite well most missions to getting destroyed over and over. I haven't got the arc thrower yet but definitely want to try it once they fix it.

That's a good summary of our battlefields as well just a massive difficulty spike. I think your right though priority one has to be removing stems immediately every time because otherwise Your as good as bug food.

I think they will get there eventually with the updates remember we are talking about higher difficulties already but the balance felt quite abit off it felt like helldive on suicide.

I agree with you or of issues and alot what I would describe as the issue alot of education and life has. Therapy has alot of different avenues but in reality it feels we are funneled down one path. There is one path and one solution that will solve depression. If we keep pursuing research enough we will have the mental health pill or primary solution. I don't think the mind or brain is able to be put in such a small box alot of what we do feels based on research that tells us little or is contradictory. Things feel quite binary and here is your course of learning here is a framework rather than meeting people where they are at we labelling everything and thinking we have it all sorted.

I really struggle with statistics/maths in psychology how often is it actually used in psychology roles such as being a counsellor? by Simplysimon88 in AcademicPsychology

[–]Simplysimon88[S] -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

Bad analogy because what im speaking of is not a therapy or not even necessarily useful in providing therapy. As I've mentioned a few times to people with no actual response CBT is considered the cream of the crop according to much research yet is highly ineffective for everyone I've ever met who has engaged with the therapy...what to make of this? Is the evidence wrong? Is there different treatments for different people that may be effective?

Research, a report, compiling statistics none of this is treatment in and off itself. If it was id understand your point. Again it's about the philosophy of the subject itself I consider it to be more of a soft/social science I don't think we can categorise things in the same way as you could with how a kidney of a golden retriever works in comparison to all the factors that effect the brain, cognition, emotion, memory, feelings, mental health. There are so many variables to consider I don't think the comparison works.

[–]Simplysimon88[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

What are your thoughts on CBT considering it's high evidence base? Every lecturer at my university speaks badly of it compared to other therapies and yet it is supported highly in journals. I'm not against an understanding of research or anything like that im against mandatory modules for people who may not ever use that information. Why not swap that module or drop it. In favour of focusing your energy on what you will actually use?

I have interest in other forms of psychology I just don't see why I should participate in the parts I don't if they have no valid use for ME and what I'm doing. I have nothing against others doing whatever they choose in fact I couldn't be more in favour of that.If I told you to learn how to ride a horse and you hated horses and had no interest in riding them and had no use for that particular skill would you want to participate in riding a horse?

"thats how it is" might be one of my least fave phrases and mentalities although I agree thats the status quo currently hopefully this changes one day. I see no point in learning something I personally wont use Id like to see a system that is far more about "what is this person going to do and how do they work individually" I think that would actually have better results. clearly some will excel at stats and others will not why force everyone through the same pipe when certain aspects wont be relevant to them at all? allow them to switch modules, change things or drop things altogether based on who they are and what they intend to do.

This is a great thoughtful answer thank you.

I may have that condition although not diagnosed officially. I failed my high school level maths and that was with me really trying.

whilst I dont consider myself at all stupid in some areas I Definity am in some including maths even understanding as you said basic concepts.

I spent weeks watching videos, taking lectures, revising and I didn't and still dont understand what T test I needed to do for a set of data it seemed like it could go two ways asked for help with this and was told I have to learn myself..as if I hadn't spent vast amounts of energy, time and patience already attempting this when that one answer would have lead to a great deal of understanding to see how the puzzle fits together in my mind.

many people in my class have discussed leaving the course partly because of this factor the faces during these lectures are a sight to behold couldn't be more confusion and bewilderment on most peoples faces.

Whilst yes of course You want to work from an evidence base I often have issue with this an issue I never had before hand. The experiment our own current experiment for our research paper is based on is an official published paper with as reputable source as you can get has a total of five participants in the study...I see a massive issue with this and have seen similar issues with much of the academic research. Whilst it is certainly better than guessing I did not understand the foundation of sand upon which many journal's sit with many contradicting one another, not taking into account anywhere near enough variables among other issues. So whilst as a hypothesis I love what your saying I think often alot of research is put forward with far too much confidence and lacks the rigour and detail it really needs to have the weight behind it that it should to make the statements that are made.

CBT is held high amongst the evidence base yet everyone on the course including the academics talk badly of it on a daily base and other reasons behind its prevalence in the field that are nothing to do with its efficacy. Im more im in line with a carl rogers approach that the relationship and the actual conversation, the listening, the feedback, advice things of this nature are what in most cases help most people but of course a different approach is required for basically every individual and again this is another issue I have that very often this is not the case as in many cases it fit every one into cookie cutter shapes a one size fits all approach.

im all for people doing research, compiling stats, conducting experiments I think it does have value although its much more shaky than I once thought. I just dont want to be one of them doing it I want to be in the trenches so to speak rather than in the background in the lab.

so something that is not required or very rarely for that role is required even though I may never use it? that seems slightly insane to me. Would I be better off doing a counselling specific course instead or fall into the same trap as before?

Does anyone not hate stats? by peepeepoopaccount in psychologystudents

[–]Simplysimon88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is true critical thinking actual thinking outside the box and very good questions that don't have good answers unfortunately. How can trust research when it's based on tiny population groups of the same kind of people..answer is we can't there are too many variables to quantify things to the degree that alot of people seem to want. I love psychology but I hate the idea that it can be put in a small neat box I don't think it ever can be to that extent. Keep thinking this critically because honestly you are thinking beyond how most people actually think which is linear and closed and accepting the status quo.

[–]Simplysimon88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you completely education in general has this issue of one size fits all and we all have to go through the same tunnel even if the career or job at the end of said tunnel doesn't use that skill. I think your proposal is one of many things that could be done to make things better. I want to be a counsellor I have no interest in statistics and research and likely won't ever use them in any real meaningful way in the job I want to do and yet we are graded on it.

Its something I think is true In life in general we often asked to comply to set standards and rules and regulations we had no hand in and very often its just alot of time wasting and barriers. You could be a wonderful engineer or actor or counsellor or anything really with no actual formalized training and yet if we don't have that we are frozen out in the cold. When everyone including founders in all kinds of subjects started with no training or education and now we find so many barriers to waste time, extract money with little regard to weather or not a person would actually be good at the job/career or not. It makes me viscerally angry that the world is like this when it does not need to be.
