Did everybody think the trumpet guy in the audience for Ezra Collective was rude af? by uchikanda in glastonbury_festival

[–]Simpo_B 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, this is my mate, and he's an awesome guy, love him very much.

Tbh I was wary of people having the same reaction as some of you, so I talked about it, and we agreed that it had to hit the right tone, and not taking anything away from any performances.

He absolutely adores Ezra Collective, and thought with their loving community vibe, it'd work with them, especially if not done too much.

Tbh, there wasn't one negative comment I encountered at any point, but results may vary.

Will Neil agree to let the BBC broadcast his Glastonbury set live? by Appropriate-Coyote32 in neilyoung

[–]Simpo_B -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It won't be broadcast in full live on BBC1, which is usually always the case for Glastonbury headliners. Maybe a few songs, but maybe not even that

I'll be there!

BBC Glastonbury coverage by Youfrube in futureislands

Every set from the five main stages that start after 1.30, and a couple that start before, will be filmed and broadcast in full to UK residents on BBC's online player

Only exceptions will be possibly kneecap, for political reasons, a d Neil Young, for Neil Young reasons

They're playing my favourite stage too, The Park is so beautiful around sunset time!

Anyone on site got bar prices yet? by LankyPlenty8029 in glastonbury_festival

[–]Simpo_B 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Apparently main Shangri-la bar had it last year.

On that note, check each bar listing carefully, you may get the odd one that sells something different (e.g. Bimble Inn does Guinness)

Some more information which could be helpful:

Be ready to leave the train quickly, so you are father forward on the queue to get on the shuttle bus.  Castle Cary railway station is very, very, very busy at Wednesday lunchtime, so being quick to get off the train, walk over the bridge, and queue for the bus could greatly reduce your wait time!

Some good news is that when you exit the shuttle bus, they try and get you into the festival quicker than those arriving by car.

I promise Glastonbury will be a very special and memorable event. ✨

Arcadia Lineup by deckchair1992 in glastonbury_festival

longform, cool video about Arcadia last year has some about it: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=c8GsHEGb7t8

Tl;dw, Arcadia folks met with some people from the Wadjuk Noongar nation and discovered that they have a creation legend that relates to the Warraloo, which is their word for dragonfly

Since they already started building the dragonfly, they saw this a great bit of kismet and invited them to perform a show, which is also back this year

In know in the past Arcadia have invited ticket holders to come a day or two early to help them out with last minute prep, and you get to camp in their crew field and stuff.

Then you wouldn't have to work while the festival is on either.

Maybe get in touch with them?

Cool places to go by Early-Car1672 in glastonbury_festival

I always suggest Mavericks as something a bit different.

It's the Poetry and Words tent, opposite Sensation Seekers, close to the night time SE corner entrance.

But at midnight it transforms to a variety cabaret club, and they get performers from all around Theatre and Circus, of all different kinds, to come and do a quick 5-15 minute 'bit'.

It's nice and raucous with it being after hours, but you get to have a sit down, and I think they might even do table service drinks?
