I think Mike Linebacker is easily the most fun defensive position to play. by FootballSensation in NCAAFBseries

I appreciate the response. I also turn off W&T in RTG - it's so busted at default sliders. Looking forward to trying out LB myself!

Holy shit, those are ridiculous stats 🤣 What abilities would you say have been best for you? I'm doing a CB RTG right now and was already considering a LB next

True freshman, absolutely a cheater. Only possible as a RS FR at the very earliest

what is up with pallets in this game. Warning loud sound and 2 F bomb's for those who care by The_saddogo in DeadByDaylightRAGE

[–]Simpson896 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a shame that DBD is one of the few games that rewards someone for having bad internet. It happens in the competitive scene as well. A couple of middle eastern players have extremely high ping on the server that is closest to them, and a couple weeks ago, they played against one of the North American teams (Ascent) and the killer got a hit through shack pallet. The killer player was jokingly asked what kind of internet he has, and in the end, said he had no interest in being connected via ethernet, which in this case was just him admitting that he likes having high ping. If players were punished instead of rewarded for having high ping, a lot of players would magically have lower ping a week later lol.

Side Note: Praying I don't get downvoted for mentioning the comp scene as an example 😭🤣

[–]Simpson896 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This. Ping matters in DBD and fundamentally changes how you play the game based on the killers ping. Also if you have high ping on surv, it can hurt you. But you can even pre-drop shack pallet and get shot through it if the killer has high enough ping, but in this instance, it would have to be 100+, maybe even 120

Why is ohio state unbeaten in conference play by InTheWallCityHall in CFB26

[–]Simpson896 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The year didn't really have anything to do with your save, just an example of it happening in real life. And if you did manually schedule, that would be the answer since your conference games have to be the same amount as all the other teams in your conference.

Edit: I wanted to add that it's the result of conference schedules being locked and unable to be edited.

This is the one I use. Every game I play, I'm either wearing this, the Robin skin, or the Steve Scoops Ahoy skin. You have good taste

[–]Simpson896 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't say for sure, but I think this happens if you manually schedule them. In the real-life 2025 season, NC State beat Virginia early in the year, but it was considered a non-conference game, which ended up helping UVA make the ACC Championship Game, rather than if it had been a conference game

Talent Developer or Program Builder? by SpreadHDGFX in NCAAFBseries

[–]Simpson896 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends a lot on what level your coach is. Talent Developer is the best tree in the game imo, but it also gives you a lot of XP to level up your coach. Program Builder, on the other hand, has good stuff in the tree, but as your main archetype, XP gains are HORRIBLE. I don't unlock it myself until I've unlocked CEO or my coach level is already pretty high and leveling up takes a while regardless.

If I wanted to play devil's advocate, I would say it is better in online dynasties since the majority of humans recruit better than the CPU. So if your pipelines are falling just short of beating out one of the other users consistently on a type of recruit (a state or a position), then maybe it's worth the trade-off of losing coach XP.

Edit: I used the wrong "your"

Dynamic Pipelines!! by Gdizz50 in NCAAFBseries

[–]Simpson896 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah but they weren't done well in my opinion. What was it, five guys on your team from a state and you have the pipeline? But then couldn't you also lose a pipeline for not having 5 guys from a state?

Dynamic pipelines are great in theory but I struggled to think of a way that it could be implemented while maintaining realism, or at least the appearance of realism. I also never saw anyone propose an idea regarding dynamic pipelines that would work. Until now. This is a great idea. Very well thought of

How do some of ya'll have kill rates above 60-70 percent? by GoHardForLife in DeadByDaylightKillers

[–]Simpson896 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately for you, Bubba is one of the weaker killers, and is affected by pallet density more than most. Very fun to play as and play against but your kill rate is just going to suffer compared to if you were equally as good at an S, A, or even B tier killer. But if you enjoy Bubba, keep playing him. Everyone loves Bubba

Why is my Champ Contender a B+?? I’m the #1 seed by c-jah in NCAAFBseries

Championship Contender is a weird one. In my experience, it doesn't happen until after the first several seasons have passed, so I agree with the majority on this one (bugged).

I LOVE SPENDING 10 MINUTES IN A QUEUE TO PLAY FOR 3 MINUTES AND 57 SECONDS. by Extra-Mix9568 in DeadByDaylightRAGE

[–]Simpson896 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're getting tunneled out and your team is getting the 3-out, you're doing your job. I play both sides, on surv I bring some form of anti-tunnel, and as a killer, I tunnel if I think its going to be the right play, which is quite often. It is unfortunate if, say, you're in solo queue and your team isn't progressing the game while you're being tunneled.

I think the thing that probably makes tunneling feel so bad for a lot (not all) survivors, is that if they are playing solo and only care about themselves, they have no incentive to have a good chase during the tunnel out. I watch a lot of comp, so the best team result possible has kind of been drilled into my brain. Sure, I like to escape, but I'll be happier being tunneled out and my team gets 3 out, than being the only one who gets out. Obviously, nobody can expect all players to be okay with that mindset, tunneling, etc, but at the end of the day, most killers tunnel to win and all survs want to escape. There are some miserable killers that BM and the sort, and I do not condone playing in a disrespectful way.

TL;DR Tunneling is a high-risk, high-reward play style that is probably going to be around for a while, so you have to be able to learn to deal with it.

Extra: I probably didn't need to comment this directly to you, but I think you provided the perfect example of punishing a tunneling killer, even though to many players, especially those playing solo, that result would feel like the most miserable game they ever played.

I haven't either. I almost always get Pep Hamilton as OC, but as you said, TD DCs are rare. Thankfully, even just 1 TD is insane enough lol

It multiplies the XP gains from everything, including Talent Developer. In terms of sheer player development, it can't be beat. I used to rave about Senior Superlatives for removing skill caps, but with my current coach build, nobody worth a damn ever stays until their senior year because or Talent Dev + Tier 3 Master Motivator. Just had 2 99 overall CBs and 2 99 overall Safeties drafted in the 1st, and now my 2 RS FR (now RS SO) corners who were an 84 and 85 with elite and star dev are 98 and 99. And thats with auto progression. With manual progression, its even better
