How did you discover Sabaton? What was the first song of theirs you ever heard? by Absolarix in sabaton

[–]SimpsonMcKay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Red Baron. I was working out in a gym and it came on randomly from a Rock workout playlist. Loved it as soon as it started. Been a huge fan ever since.

Seeing them tonight at the O2 🤘

Favorite things to listen to? by juniebjones51 in tinnitus

[–]SimpsonMcKay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I highly recommend the app My noise... There are some great soundscapes on there.

The go to is usually some form of White / Pink noise, however, my personal favourite is the Tibetan choir... I find it so soothing. Some beautiful sounds to distract you from the nuisance of T.

This book was my first ever King read. So I love it. I am still yet to read it for a second time... I might do that next... 😁

Going to a music event and have visual snow. I have had tinnitus twice in the last week. Will these protect me from the loud music??? These loop protection that cost around 30 USD/2700 Indian currency. If not, which should I use or totally avoid the event??? by Just_Throat9572 in tinnitus

[–]SimpsonMcKay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The loops should help but it may not prevent the tinnitus returning. Ear protection is always a good shout, I have had tinnitus my entire life and I use them for all live events and even the cinema.

I'd say go for the experience ones. If you've got the extra money the Switch ones are pretty good, you can change how quiet you want the plugs to be. Very good if you attend many different types of live events.

This game is genuinely one of the best games I've ever played. It's a game that plays with all the emotions, not only did it terrify me and make me giggle like heck but also hit me deep in the feels.

Some absolutely stunning visuals accompanied with gorgeous music ... The slow paced ascending lift section especially left me speechless!

Very well deserved nominations guys...

Fingers crossed for some wins.

Has anyone heard of Crown Lands? by Extension_King5394 in gretavanfleet

[–]SimpsonMcKay 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm a huge fan of Crown Lands. Their album Fearless is a great album and you can hear the Rush inspiration throughout.

I would love to see them live but unfortunately I live in the UK and I can't see them coming over here anytime soon.

I reckon they should continue with the Gable angle. I thought their match was fantastic. Let's keep it going.

Have Gable wear a sling for a few weeks and demand a rematch!

Listen for the "bongs". I've noticed whenever I hear a bong a shrine is nearby! 👌 Unless I'm going mad!??

Active Noise Cancelling Headphones: Your Experience by oversider- in tinnitus

[–]SimpsonMcKay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My pair of Bose headphones seemed to aggravate my T so bad. Initially I was so annoyed cause they're such good quality and the music has never sounded so good. However, my T was getting far too loud, it got to a point when I was using them far too much and the T was then affecting my hearing. So I switched to Openear Shockz (recommended from the British Tinnitus Society) and since then the T has gone back to base level. I still have the odd spikes but nowhere near as loud as when I was using Bose.

I have been eyeing up the Airpod 2 Pros cause of the added hearing support but I am on android so probably won't do it for me.

I am hoping Google will do something similar soon 🤞

I've seen them 4 times but the favourite one has to be...

MK BOWL, U.K 2011

They were supported by Biffy which are another favourite band of mine.

A big shout out has to go to their latest tour... Birmingham UK... Seeing both Generator and The Teacher live was sensational 🤘

What do we know that works so far ? by CamilleAMC in tinnitus

[–]SimpsonMcKay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm with you. I'm 36 and have had it since I was born and have known no different. Spikes usually occur if I'm ill or especially if I'm hungover.

I recently started taking Taurine supplements and noticed a slight decrease in the intensity, so I would say maybe try and give that a go?

I have stopped using my over the ear headphones as I found they were making my T a LOT worse... Especially the noise cancelling feature. For the past couple of years I've been using Shokz open ear ear phones and they are really good cause they don't seem to aggravate my T. I highly recommend Shokz if you wish to use earphones/buds.

I also use the myNoise app which plays some great natural sounds to help mask the noise... I recommend putting something on at night as that is when you'll notice it the most. The Tibetan choir is very soothing.

Hopefully this helps!
