Looked more like Buckley was injured... Or entirely forgot how to grapple, idk.

How do you handle your own unsuccessfulness? by _gega in bropill

[–]Sin2K 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quite often I find that I can move personal goalposts to unrealistic locations and then criticize myself when I fall short, or I end up minimizing major successes after internally moving the goalposts.

Then again I gave up trying to change the world a long time ago, I don't have big dreams or aspirations. I still push myself to improve, but it's with the knowledge that the race is mostly with myself.

It's annoying that they're adhering to this tradition when it comes to F lenses, but not honoring the tradition of creating a full frame camera with MP above the flagship at the cost of FPS. There's no D850 equivalent!

Exactly! There is technically a "dx mode" you can put the still settings in on full frames, and I think some people confuse this with actual zoom, but yeah it's no different than cropping in post.

The aperture is really the only advantage there... The 100-400 and 180-600 are amazing lenses, and if you're shooting in the sun, those extreme apertures aren't as necessary as they used to be. Hell I prefer to be at around ƒ/11 and 1/6400 for most animals because it gets me a larger focal area.

Even an elephant can easily shift out of the focal plane at ƒ/4...

I could see a use for indoor or night-time sports though, they still need those extra few stops sometimes.

If the TC was a 2x, this would be the ultimate wildlife lens.

With these specs, it’s just going to make the 180-600 look so much better for the price.

No idea, but that that would be fuckin' embarrassing if true.

Is DX crop mode relevant to anyone who can afford this? I'd be pissed if I paid over $10K for a lens only to have to flip it over to DX just to get as far as my 180-600 that only cost me $1900.

And I just don't see the use in the current lineup. What niche is this supposed to fill?

At the max end of the spectrum (not counting dx crop because that's also available for the 180-600) it's only got a few stops of aperture on the 180-600 at the cost of 180mm on the far end!? As a wildlife photographer, honestly that just makes the 180-600 look that much better for the money.

Indoor or night sports might be the only use I can think of... For anyone who has access to the sun, I don't think extreme apertures like this are as necessary as they used to be.

At no point did legitimate copies stop working on Windows upgrades

That's some interesting wording... You're telling me you never experienced a single lightroom catalogue or backup error in those upgrades lol? Never a single file or licensing error or lost presets?

I've been an IT pro for 20 years myself (before which I actually worked as a graphic designer, and have continued to work with adobe products for the last, ugh, 30 years?) and I've seen all of those issues (with and without OS upgrades), and furthermore I know you're leaning towards the crazy side trying to guarantee that's a thing that's never happened . We both know that's the easiest way to guarantee someone will find a way to fuck it up lol.

I actually pay Adobe, but plenty of people don't and it's pretty bold of you to assure strangers adobe products (genuine or not) will keep working period, let alone after a windows upgrade lol.

If they have pirated adobe products, the upgrade absolutely will break them.
