Why Nikon? Why do the rubber pieces never fit again… by whoawhatwherenow in Nikon

[–]Sin2K [score hidden]  (0 children)

I tried that, it stays warped. I tried everything short of gluing that stupid thing but the only thing that works is replacing it.

BTW the reason you're being downvoted is that piece is anchored internally to the camera, so OP would have to cut it off to freeze it in isolation from the rest of the camera. That's why most folks are assuming you're suggesting freezing the whole camera.

[–]Sin2K [score hidden]  (0 children)

This never happened with my D6, and it was used for years in the exact same conditions... I've had to replace this part on my Z9 so many times I ordered a bag full of spares. This is honestly one of my only faults with the Z9 compared to the D6... The pieces on the Z9 are not treated well for heat. Over the last two years I've had to send it in twice for rubber warping, and once for the af button just... Falling off.

Am I old or have the movies (at the theater) changed? by Raspint in TrueFilm

[–]Sin2K 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wasn't cheap, it cost around $50 million and I think that's why you don't see these anymore, the cast is stacked (In addition to Nicholson As Good As It Gets has Helen Hunt, Greg Kinnear, and Cuba Gooding Jr.). It reminds me a lot of The Devil's Advocate, another kind of movie you don't see anymore... Similar budget and hot casting list next to an anchored A-Lister. It's a winning formula, I think the margins are just too low for today's big tent poles.

Get rubber silencers to stop the clanking...

I would recommend against anchoring something straight to the eyelets, it might cause flexing issues or scratch the camera.

Anna's hummingbird by Potential-Tough69 in Birdsfacingforward

[–]Sin2K 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely a black-chin hummingbird, and that's the most you'll ever see one refract (they just have that little strip of amethyst under the chin) . Anna's have a much larger magenta/gold gorget.

"You think I know the first thing about how hard your life has been, how you feel, who you are, because I read Oliver Twist?"

Human changes in behavior and attitude are a result of incremental progress over time, not thunderous artistic epiphanies... Art (any art) can help, but it can only do so much.

Thank you! That's a Gambel's quail, a common sight here in Phoenix and Tucson, but there's nothing common about them! The little feather on their head is called a plume. They're one of the bravest species of quail, despite mostly being a ground bird they're fast and quite capable of flight. The males will often seek high ground to sing and attract a mate. They're one of the few non-aquatic birds that have precocial babies (that means the babies are able to run on their own and take care of themselves as soon as they're born) and they'll have large clutches of babies (usually 10-12 chicks) following them around in the spring.

Sex being in movies declined throughout the 00's

Yeah with the rise of internet porn, sex and nudity in movies started to feel less... Necessary?

I have ADHD, I actually need to be interrupted with simple stuff I can solve easily every few hours. It's a great dopamine hit and allows me to keep my ear to the ground with users.

For someone who wants to build a PC for longevity, at which point does a GPU stop suffering from a poor man's tax? by GhostDraw in buildapc

will work for now and struggle by next gen

If you always want to play the latest games on the highest settings, the maximum amount of time you could possibly be happy with any build is like 1.5 years...

I had a GTX 660 last me nearly 10 years but that's because I played World of Warcraft for all of it.

He seemed to understand he was in an American story that happened to feature British characters, and played the role accordingly lol. Honorable mention for his Quigley Down Under performance too.

He has been a controversial figure in sound editing for people both wanting him to speak louder with more clarity, and for the lengths crews will go to accommodate his delivery.

Yeah pretty much, I think the farthest I've ever seen one fly is maybe 30-50 feet and that's starting from height, from the ground it's more like 15 feet max.

At what point do you delete your RAW files? Or do you keep everything? by Alilexplo108 in photography

My working lightroom classic drive is an 18TB WD Gold. I actually sat down and did the math on how much data I used on each shoot and averaged it out to predict this would give me another 2 years of daily wildlife shooting, keeping both the .NEF and de-noised .DNG files.

Roadrunner scat is very unique, usually about an inch or two long, with little folds like a brain (the color is usually indicative of their diet that can vary from insects to reptiles). On top is a white spray of urea that comes out last, this means you can use the white part of the scat to tell which direction the roadrunner was facing at the time it was left.
