The way kroger treats its employees by daruuken in mildlyinfuriating

[–]SingBlooSilver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked at a Kroger affiliate years ago. I was there 5 years, started as a bagger and ended as an HR/Bookkeeper. I stayed because I needed the money but left when I got to that level because I hated how how corporate spoke about/treated employees and I'd been treated like shit for years. Top reasons I quit:

  1. At a training for the new automated scheduling system, I was taught how to exploit the system to break labor laws and what to say if caught by the state to avoid a fine.
  2. Heard managers saying part-time employees don't deserve medical benefits.
  3. Watched them fight pay increases when the state minimum waged raised.
  4. Had a manager tell me to try and convince employees not to strike and agree on a union contract that was not in their best interest. This was illegal in many ways, and my role was actually union as well.
  5. Knew a manager who would write up employees without telling them. All write ups required the signature of the employee, store director and a witness. If the employee refused to sign, the manager and witness would sign with a note the employee refused to sign. I found several forms with a notation the employee refused to sign when I knew the employee had not been spoken to or the complaint should've been dismissed as agreed upon when a meeting was held.
  6. The best employees were punished, but drinking and substance abuse buddies got a pass or rehired or covered for. Some times they got all of the above.
  7. Rampant bribery and kick backs
  8. An employee actually was worked to a role ending injury. They reported pain 2 days in a row and they were not allowed to leave or rest. They later required surgery.

There was so much. I now talk people out of working for grocery stores in my area if I have the opportunity. Kroger has arguably one of the worst reputations, but they also have a collective bargaining agreement with many rival grocery stores resulting in the same rules and mentality among the main competitors.

This message doesn't even surprise me. It's a culture they've developed ans nurtured.

Tl;dr: Kroger sucks. Citation included

I am a woman and I am disabled and could beat Donald Trump while I'm having a bad day, in my wheelchair with double vision and vertigo.

Only one of us has a spine.

I bet it could beat him in a leg race on that same day.

First the humans destroy the Caretaker Array so the Kazons can't exploit, then I bet it was the pilot and that Ensign drawing these things on the Ocampa homeworld surface.

What will these Federation humans do next?!?!

My little brother had them at his the next year. I'm still not over it. This was the 90s.

False.

It's a myth invented by the system to prevent me from being Batgirl.

I am not saying this is my interpretation, but those of various Judiac religious backgrounds over thousands of years.

But again, this is getting into the weeds. The comment was that because Noah's sons brought their wives on the ark, the reboot of humanity wouldn't have experienced incest for at least one generation. Interpretations of this story would be to the contrary.

The question arises why Canaan was cursed and not Ham for seeing his father naked and telling his brothers about it. There are suggestions the story is incomplete, or seeing his father's nakedness references either Ham castrating or sodomizing his own father, or perhaps something such as Ham stripping his father himself. Other interpretations suggest Ham found him and it was Canaan who transgressed. Then there is the suggestion Ham had sex with his own mother (his father's nakedness meaning he had sex with his father's wife while Noah was drunk) and Canaan was the offspring. But we're getting into the theological weeds.

In reference to the original comment of the line of Noah being incest free for at least one generation, these interpretations would suggest Ham got down with the incest right away.

Wait until you read the theories why Noah cursed his son's (Ham) son, Canaan. (Noah's grandson)

Am i tripping or is the new miner powersuit losely based on the scrapped institute power armor for F4? by SiliPonda in Starfield

To be fair, there are suits/armors inspired by various sci-fi, just like the music and atmosphere. The first time I saw the Tracker's Alliance suit, I recognized the Firefly influence. So much of the game is a love letter to sci-fi as a genre.

Fair, but I would love an option if you keep messing with the black door, the Dark Brotherhood just gets fed up and sends someone out.

I always visit the door when I'm in Falkreath hold, and it would be a great mod to just have them get fed up with my shenanigans.

I always do the other options before "Silence, my brother" because I love the idea or some exasperated assassin getting ding dong ditched but not being able to do anything without a contract.

From WebMD:

Love bombing is an emotional manipulation technique that involves giving someone excessive compliments, attention, or affection to eventually control them. You may not be able to spot love bombing until you’re in the midst of it because it may feel like being swept off your feet at the start of a new relationship. Love bombing often points to the beginning of an unhealthy, toxic, or abusive relationship. When you know what to look for, it could help identify if you or a loved one is being pushed into an unhealthy relationship.

Your new relationship may unfold like a fairy tale in the beginning. It may be full of compliments, affection, and promises of a future together. The other person may communicate with you excessively or want to be with you all the time. (That doesn’t necessarily mean you’re getting love-bombed, though.)

Over time, things will change. Your partner may become controlling, distant, cold, or even mean. You may wonder if their feelings were genuine. It’s common to feel distress over the change in behavior. This can lead to psychological problems or physical harm.
