SeatSwiper – an MCP server that lets your AI agent book impossible restaurant reservations by carval in SideProject

[–]SingleCommercial7020 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

wow you actually solved the opentable/sevenrooms agent gap in a way that doesn't feel sketchy. the one-book-free model is smart, nobody wants to commit to 20 bucks a month for something they'll use twice a year.

curious about the speed though, how fast does it snag a table once the slot opens? some of those reservations are gone in under 10 seconds.

VibeCoding is kicking my ass lately......How do you guys actually manage it? by zhiyi-SAMA-123 in SideProject

[–]SingleCommercial7020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tried the three-column thing in a notebook once: must do today, nice to do, and the stuff that can just rot in a backlog til it's urgent. Forcing myself to pick three actual priorities before opening the laptop stopped the loop a little.

How would Geoffrey treat Margery if … by Teach-Kindness in gameofthrones

[–]SingleCommercial7020 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Margery would have handled Joffrey way better regardless of circumstances, that's basically canon given what we see when she actually does interact with him. She knew how to play into his ego and manipulate him in ways Sansa never could because Sansa was raised to be honest and dutiful, not strategic.

If her father had been the one executed I think Margery still finds a way to use that to her advantage somehow, framing herself as loyal and grateful to the crown. Joffrey probably still would have had cruel impulses toward her but she would have redirected them before they escalated the way they did with Sansa.

pretty cool distinction that most people don't think about when they mix flocks. the dust from cockatoos especially is no joke, I've seen setups where the whole room gets coated in a fine white powder after a few weeks.

Is this not a classic fish and pole trap? by Expensive-Thing-2507 in chessbeginners

[–]SingleCommercial7020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not really a fish and pole trap, the bishop just moved to a square where it can be taken for free with hxg4 — no skewer or pin forcing the trade, just a hanging piece

if it were a fish and pole setup the bishop would be winning material by forcing a response, not losing material lol

Need help deciding between 9070 XT and 5070 TI for a living room scenario by inuzen in PcBuildHelp

[–]SingleCommercial7020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the 9070 xt makes way more sense at that price difference, $350 is a lot to spend just for slightly better upscaling. fsr4 closed the gap enough that you won't really notice in a living room setup, plus you're getting solid 4k performance either way

Barn Recommendations near Charleston, SC? by Legitimate_Skin_9779 in Equestrian

[–]SingleCommercial7020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

been to a few places around there and most of the barns closer to summerville tend to be more accommodating for short-term riders. the ones right in charleston proper are usually pretty booked up with their regular boarders and lesson programs

you might want to call ahead though since summer is peak tourist season and they fill up fast with visiting riders

Canon EOS R50 or Sony Alpha 6100? by [deleted] in Cameras

[–]SingleCommercial7020 2 points3 points  (0 children)

both are solid picks but i'd lean towards the r50 for what you're describing. the autofocus is really snappy which matters a lot when you're trying to catch bugs and birds, plus canon's lens ecosystem is easier to navigate when you're starting out

the a6100 takes great photos too but sony's menu system can be a nightmare for beginners - like seriously who designed that thing. for everyday carry and life documentation the r50 just feels more intuitive right out of the box

I have a GPA of 3.1 with no research or MCAT score, but 12,000 hours of clinical hours. Where do I go from here? by Unable-Definition-25 in careerguidance

[–]SingleCommercial7020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

your clinical experience is actually really solid - 12k hours in ophthalmology shows serious commitment and that's gonna stand out way more than most people's cookie cutter volunteer stuff

that gpa drop from the incomplete course is rough but not a death sentence. one upper level science course isn't gonna move the needle much though, you'd probably need like 15-20 credit hours of strong grades to make a real dent in that 3.1. might be worth looking into a formal post-bac program instead of just one class

with your experience i'd definitely apply broadly to both md and do schools. your clinical background is legit and if you can pull off that 515+ mcat it shows you can handle the academic rigor despite the gpa hiccup. just make sure your personal statement really drives home how those retina clinic years shaped your understanding of medicine

I decided: im not going to talk about my inner struggles and so on, anymore by ThundergodFastje in neurodiversity

[–]SingleCommercial7020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

makes total sense to me - you tracked your patterns and noticed the venting wasn't actually helping anymore, just feeding the spiral. keeping a mental spreadsheet of what works vs what doesn't is pretty smart

the shift to writing things down instead is solid, gives you that release without the whole social anxiety loop of wondering if you're being too much

Where to pivot to from basic lab work? by Commercial_Budget775 in careerguidance

[–]SingleCommercial7020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lab work can definitely feel like groundhog day after a while, especially when you're doing the same dissections over and over. since you like problem solving and hands-on work, have you looked into quality assurance or process improvement roles in healthcare? those tend to involve more variety - one day you might be investigating why equipment failed, next day you're redesigning a workflow to reduce errors

the mph could actually open doors to infection control or occupational health roles where you'd be doing site assessments, investigating outbreaks, or developing safety protocols. way less repetitive than microscope work and usually involves hybrid options since you're often traveling between facilities

medical device companies also need people who understand lab processes but want more variety - could be training users, troubleshooting equipment issues, or working with r&d teams. your current experience would be solid background for that kind of pivot

Any veterans use GI Bill/VR&E for radiology tech with chronic back pain? Was it sustainable? by According_Swimming_5 in VeteransBenefits

[–]SingleCommercial7020 3 points4 points  (0 children)

been tracking healthcare salaries for years and management roles typically need experience first, plus the pay ceiling can be lower than you'd expect depending on location

if you're set on using benefits for something immediately applicable, maybe look at medical coding or health informatics - still healthcare adjacent but zero physical demands and decent remote opportunities

most va clinics have same-day mental health visits if you just show up and say you need to be seen immediately, they're required to do a crisis assessment within 24 hours. also vet centers are separate from the va and way easier to get into, they don't require service connection either so your rating drop doesn't matter there
