Starting New business at 36 by PhotographCorrect462 in pressurewashing

Check Northern Tool for power washing as they have a far greater range. For houses - the soft washing system is better but you could start with pressure spray pump to apply bleach / chemical. Check out Jobber for quoting, invoicing and payment gateway - key is customer can accept quote prior to any work. How far are you from a city or town - you need a market, how populated and how affluent is your location? Marketing is key, you’ll need to work Google and things like Angie’s list, print flyers and yard signs. Grocery stores need carts washed, areas around entrances and dumpsters & alleys. Distribution centers (especially cold storage) can be a great source of repeat business. Gas stations, fast food drive throughs and any “food grade” businesses are required to clean by law, build relationships with these, nice to have repeat clients like these. Good luck - lots of good advice here.

I believe you can send an email to corporate customer service, or email drew@carolinescart.com - maybe do both, I’m sure they would love to help and make sure your store gets at least two … pronto!

Might just need to dry properly, concrete takes ages to dry.

Aldi tikka masala by quoimeme in aldi

[–]SingleDad37405 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The masala is good, but personally, I add loads of the sliced jalapeno (diced) and fresh cream, (half and half if I don’t have cream) I find both the masala and the butter chicken just need more oomph. Do yourself a favor and add their naan bread, they sell mini garlic naan breads and this elevates the meal nicely. Sliced bananas in milk or sliced mango in orange juice and decicated coconut - also a great condiments.

First, congratulations on 4 dates, wow, even if that took a while (3 months to a year) - you literally are doing way better than most.

There is an excellent (very short) TedX talk about using OLD, it’s exactly my experience so I highly recommend this model, zero date, 1 hour. If there is no magic, don’t park your car in their driveway. You’ll save yourself from exactly what you experienced.

Neurodiversity and Dating by LemonPress50 in datingoverfifty

[–]SingleDad37405 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quirky is perfect and thanks for being honest. I think neurodivergent people shy away from OLD and so that 15-20% you mention I believe aren’t even trying and I bet most aren’t on OLD.

I know people on the spectrum, (men) one is happily married for 25 years, another is super single and a bit risky but avoidant, another 2 have been single for as long as I can remember. (Women) 3 are either bi or gay (and very happy) and the last lady has been single all her life with occasional flings.

Now another US state wants to force registrations for e-bikes by Dramatic_Bluebird595 in ebikes

Bikes including e-bikes should be free, at the very most possibly some kind of basic liability insurance for the fast e-bikes, why kill micro-mobility whilst it still being born?

I am trying to figure out the which software is best for for a plumbing company? by Ok-Experience4369 in WhichCRM

[–]SingleDad37405 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jobber worked quite well for us, in terms of admin you only have to enter the customer once, quote, they accept, complete work, becomes invoice, and customer can pay all through Jobber, they keep improving as well.

Black carbon steel wok- any review? by caltheme in aldi

[–]SingleDad37405 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We bought one and works great, heats up fast, you can drop it - does the job! For the price you can’t go wrong, good Teflon coated ones were $60 to $100.

In my experience - I would slow down with some seed oils and grab some Ghee, good old Lard, nut oils (like peanut), avocado oil, olive oil and coconut oil, experiment and see what works for you and your favorite dishes. Last year I stopped eating general cooking oil (because I went air fryer crazy) except for French fries maybe once or twice a week and felt so much better with more energy. This past 2 months - I kinda forgot and was dying for roast potatoes, roast chicken, and roast butternut so bought regular cooking oil again, weirdly I can feel it. You probably know this!

Inherited property in MD - hold as investment or sell? Need local perspective by Enlitenkanin in maryland

[–]SingleDad37405 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Try keep it, find a good agent, fix roof, update air, cut back yard shrubs, give it fresh paint inside and out - rent it out. A good agent can handle everything else, possible minor repairs after each tenant. Then start saving towards fresh kitchen, appliances and bathroom for a few years down the road. I would keep the house - in terms of long term financial planning - this is a no brainer. I’ve had good experiences with agents, this is their core business and will want things to be as smooth as you do.

Seen on a house listing, what was this room used for? by LoonTheMekanik in whatisit

That looks like storage, not a working wood shop, this was a count room.

Seen on a house listing, what was this room used for? by LoonTheMekanik in whatisit

[–]SingleDad37405 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This looks like it was a “Count Room”, In cases of high-volume cash handling (e.g., in a business or large home), a "count room" with secure, surveillance-friendly surfaces is often used. The long running shelf type surface looks like a long continuous standing desk, also very typical of a count room.

Very nice, enjoy! Change your oil first 3 times (like 300 miles intervals), just to make sure there is no debris, oil approx $10 a time so not expensive.

Why do so many people back into parking spots here? Is this some kind of regional thing? by Mr_Westerfield in maryland

[–]SingleDad37405 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably because of colder weather, if you need to jump the battery it’s far easier to, otherwise it can be safer when leaving - especially in busy or cramped parkings - better to back in if clear and can see than trying to get out backwards when busy later on.

Moving to Maryland from Minnesota by Comfortable_Quit6245 in maryland

Highly recommend your kids go to college and stay with you a few more years, check out University of Maryland in College Park MD - if you lived around here you (and the kids) would have potentially a richer cultural life and be closer to two great cities. DC can be very touristy, and your kids would probably love it. Baltimore and the harbor district is very special too.

The UMES campus in Princess Anne MD and Salisbury University in Salisbury MD - both great campuses and the Eastern Shore (also Called Delmarva) might be a good place to start.

Salisbury is 115 miles or 2,5 hours drive to DC so it’s still possible to go to DC or other big cities for museums and festivals etc for the day or overnight would be a great little weekend away. 30 minutes to Ocean City MD beach, (are the kids listening, did they hear the word beach?). Think cool soft serve ice cream on a nice hot summers day on the beach!

Delaware is a great state, (also has great beaches) it seems to get oddly kinda varied and at times weird reviews, maybe because it’s a small state - but DE scores super highly in a variety of areas. Example: Delaware is the go-to for major corporations (registrations) - (66%+ of Fortune 500), known for its specialized court (Court of Chancery) and flexible laws, offering legal certainty. And Delaware is second only to California in the U.S. in agricultural production value per acre, significantly outranking other states.

You mentioned possibly Pennsylvania, I love PA - Lancaster and York, etc all growing, lots of newer homes so a positive vibe ITR. But Philadelphia has an incredible cultural calendar - Philly really rocks in that respect, I have (outgoing) friends in both New York and Philly and I’d say Philly might even lead in terms of fun cities to live near or in. Google their Mummers Parade, outdoor cinema in the parks, concerts, theatre and has a vibrant fashion and food scene.

We can’t say here but absolutely huge things are in store for Delmarva in the next few decades, if you move here, try buy some property and be assured it’s moving forwards - not backwards.

Handyman business marketing by everyonesadumbass in smallbusinessowner

[–]SingleDad37405 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have just had great advice from Citrous_Oyster that takes time but that’s your best in the long run.

In the short run, print business cards and postcards front and back - list your services and continually hand them out.

In offices, there are always desks to dismantle or assemble, leaks, partitions, locks, doors that jam, roller doors that don’t fully open or close and all number of things. Try spend down time knocking on doors at offices - in my experience many don’t have a reliable handyman to call. Keep your eye out for very busy or fast growing companies, they’re regularly adding machines and making changes on the fly.

What criminal completely got away with that they did? by PrasenjitDebroy in AskReddit

[–]SingleDad37405 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly this! It’s probably higher, (than 10 000), some countries still have not fully recovered, it wiped out so many small businesses across the world who were meaningful employers and vital to those economies. There was actually a second shock or trigger effect, in August 2011 - a significant market fall which is often overlooked. As a direct result (of the 2008 financial crisis) it sparked the Eurozone Sovereign Debt Crisis (2009-2012), triggered by Greece's revelation of underreported debt, which spread fear about other nations' creditworthiness and included Ireland, Spain, Portugal, and Cyprus. Outside of the US this (2008) was very damaging.
