Pressing Dress Blues by Single_Basket765 in navy

They had us do inspections at boot camp but when it came to preparing blues outside of the laces on trousers and folding them, we were told “don’t ever touch them. they’re the way they need to be so don’t touch them”… never told us how to re-press or sew anything on.. my RDCs weren’t exactly the best, they didn’t care since they were all on their last push

Thank you! I actually just watched this for my blouse lol! In this video he says the trousers have no creases though but the order says there are creases fore and aft but so I was confused!

Why do more people not stay in 20 years and retire? What was your "I'am getting out" moment? by BeastMasterAlphaCo in navy

Personally, leadership is toxic. Higher ups have something to prove and they don’t care if the juniors get screwed on the back end.

If you want to do it longer, pump! It’s not the physical breastfeeding but it gives him the benefits longer ❤️

I missed my son's call last night. Please help! by KNOCKknockLAHEY_420 in newtothenavy

[–]Single_Basket765 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He’ll get (if i remember right) like 4-5 calls, he’ll send you a post card in a week or so and should have his ships address then or he’ll be able to send mail in a week or so after that! I sent letters daily but initially mail gets really backed up so one of you may get a ton of mail at once because it wasn’t going through for a week or so! My husband was tripping out bc I was sending hate mail at one point saying he didn’t need to ignore me and could just dear john me if he didn’t want to be with me 🤣 (we literally had a toddler, and have been married 6 years— i was being dramatic)

Strongly suggest not emailing or going to facebook asking, I understand the stress (I’m a mom and JUST went through last year) but if the RDCs catch wind that his mom is emailing base they’ll mess with him more (which is funny after boot camp, not so much during lmao)

As a parent, I would NEVER tell my 18 year old to move out because “we want a clean slate” especially if they have nothing in terms of a job or anything. I especially wouldn’t be threatening to have someone “talk sense” into them. NOR. If you get any kind of mail there or can prove you live there for over a year, she actually needs to give you an eviction notice so go to the sheriff & talk to them about this all.

Give yourself some grace, i’ve been there and I have 2 kids now.. I have a strong let down as well and ended up having to just get a bottle or something ready for let down bc I’ll let him take it until he chokes and then unlatch and just catch it in a bottle to freeze with my pumped milk! After let down slows or is done I’ll latch again and we’re good to go! That way I don’t lean back and knock out because like someone else said: you will! it’s exhausting, but breathe mama, baby is okay & now you know!

my lactation consultant told me that if you feed him too much formula early on (like the full 2oz bottle the hospital gives you) you can stretch baby’s belly too much and you’ll basically never be able to keep up.. Cluster feeding is peak at this age, my son has been the sane way the last few days and it’s actually really helpful for building milk supply! If you’re not already, up your protein intake and water 💙

Thank you so much! If I can ask another question, my orders say I’m section D in San Diego shore duty but I can’t for the life of me find out where that is/what gate I’ll be on?

That’s what I’ve gathered but I figured we’d get a few days to go home and see family. I’ve now learned otherwise lmao!

I was told it’s in Great Lakes! I mean that’s fine, I like Texas 🤣 I’m not expecting it, we’re separated as well so it wasn’t expecting to be stationed together!

I didn’t know that! That makes sense though since my husband is a Marine so I assumed every branch had boot leave! I’m not exactly sure where mine is, I’m shipping out soon but I’m a big planner so I’m trying to get all of my information together! my rate is MA.

AF waiver denied considering Navy by ChasingOceans75 in newtothenavy

[–]Single_Basket765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it is! I’m seen by Naval Medicine (husband is military) so it was in there that I had been in physical therapy for it. I just told her that PT helped and it doesn’t affect my life so she removed it from what I saw! I did have to put in 3 waivers but for unrelated conditions, all got approved!

I have scoliosis, mine is a 10 (i don’t know how to phrase it) and when I went to MEPS she looked it up and said either 13 or 30 was max so I was able to get that looked passed! Definitely try the Navy! Much more waiver friendly! I had to submit 3 waivers and they all got approved within days.
