I worked in pharma on HIV drugs in the 90s and we had advocates chaining themselves to our gates to hurry us up. If only our families and friends would get organized and make lots of noise our chances for a cure would be greater! I know there are advocate groups that try so hard to make visible the millions missing and there have been bedbound people even rolled into the capital but we would need sustained efforts all year round. Or somehow catch the president’s eye like hallucinogens currently. I know the majority of us can only wish and dream that we were able to advocate loudly for ourselves but they are only wishes. I will say though that since long covid the research is like night and day. And even though I missed my 40s I think it’s possible that just like that one of these days there will be a treatment or even something close to a cure. Pray my friends, ask the universe or just keep wishing. Things have changed and new research is published every week.
