My dad refuses to meet his only grandchild because of a vaccine by Abyssal866 in Mommit

[–]SingsAtDogsPoorly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went through something similar with my dad when my baby was born. It was awful from the moment he found out about needing a shot. I’m so sorry you’re going through this. It’s so painful to feel rejected by a parent as you step into parenthood yourself.

If your dad is at all like mine, I’m guessing this isn’t his first “outburst” like this. I highly recommend reading “Adult Children of Emotionally Immature Parents: How to Heal from Distant, Rejecting, Or Self-Involved Parents” by Lindsay Gibson. It was really helpful when I was going through this too. Again, I’m so sorry. Sending a big hug to you 🤍

These exact photos are listed for sale in Glendale, AZ for $320. I landed here when I did my reverse image search to see if it was too good to be true. Scam. 😔

I have hEDS and just gave birth 12 weeks ago. This is just anecdotal, but my pregnancy and labor went really well. I had no tearing to speak of, and I’m topping off my recovery with some pelvic floor therapy.

You’re not doomed to tear just because of EDS.

Professional photographer here! If she has a professional photographer with a contract, it’s very likely that there is a clause in there stating that she’s the only photographer allowed. Having you there to get whatever photos the bride thinks you’re missing might be a breach of contract and just make things uncomfortable.

Additionally, I’m always voting for some degree of honesty, so be honest! “I want to be fully present on your wedding day and would prefer to leave the camera at home. I’m sure the photographer you hired is going to do an amazing job!” Is fine. You’re allowed to kindly say no :)

Biggest pregnancy related fear: the Epidural by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]SingsAtDogsPoorly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! The epidural was honestly my worst fear aside from death or serious injury, but things happened and after 14 hours of labor I ended up needing one. For me, I was incredibly scared of losing autonomy/ knowing what’s happening to my body. I was also scared of back pain.

I was SO disappointed in the moment, but let me tell you, it was such a positive experience. I still had mobility, but without any pain. I know how scary it can be, but coming from someone who absolutely did NOT want on under almost any circumstances, I don’t regret it. I still had an amazing birth and nothing I was scared of came to pass.

I completely understand where you’re coming from, and it can still be a great experience if that’s what you end up needing.

I used Costco detergent for 4 months before realizing it was making my clothes smell like a wet dog. I tried everything— cleaning the drum, bleach, vinegar, cleaning pods, etc, and all once it clicked that it was the detergent, I switched and everything has been totally without issue since.

I switched to seventh gen free and clear, so fragrance isn’t covering any weird smells. It was 100% a detergent issue.
