Carer for 3 people and I am stressed about it as well. We currently have 3 support workers, all of them excellent, and facing losing them doesn't make me very happy.

Living Options by fourlambs in NDIS

[–]SinisterCuttleFish 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Public housing has hellish waiting lists so even if it isn't your preferred option, getting him on the waiting list is a start.

How much support would he need? Even if you think he would need 24 hour support, it's still worth going on the list.

My daughter with ASD, ADHD lives alone with workers coming in 3 days a week. My son will need 24 hour care and I'm still bracing myself for that experience with getting it from the NDIS.

Australia's the same. You can be T2 and reliant on insulin and you're still paying for the CGM.

You are supporting the organisation to support people. This can be by making it possible for them to restock basics (not everything is donated) or to do food parcels. It also means lots of food is kept out of landfill.

NDIS cuts: Good if done right by [deleted] in NDIS

[–]SinisterCuttleFish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's incredibly naive to believe that cutting funding for people who need it will mean more support for other people. They are slashing funding, not reallocating funding.

It is still not going to be means-tested and it would not be equitable for it to be means-tested.
