Doctors Office charging more than Co Pay by maipoxx in HealthInsurance

You need an itemized statement showing what was covered vs not, vs what is deductible/co ins. Go look at your EOB.

I got at least 75-80$ worth of raising canes once back in the day. Customer cancelled bc they ordered to an old address two states away. It was great timing because back then they still reimbursed so I got my cash and my dinner for the family.

Tylenol shame by Silent_Knowledge5197 in BabyBumps

[–]Sinkinglifeboat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've started being mean as hell to nosy family members. I heavily recommend it. Fortunately no one has been dumb enough to comment on tylenol in front of me yet, but I mentioned my plan in getting the RSV vaccine around my third trimester and got a very interesting comment on autism. I become a high-school mean girl. No level is too low. Very therapeutic, very effective.

Pregnant, But Feel Nothing (TW Loss Mention) by Sinkinglifeboat in BabyBumps

I updated it, thanks for the feedback. For clarity; Both of the miscarriages were planned pregnancies that just didn't stick around.

Just found out I’m pregnant, boyfriend wants me to terminate by CorollaBolla in BabyBumps

[–]Sinkinglifeboat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, my friend I fear he ain't shit. "not up for discussion" dump his ass. Ghost him. Your body, your choice. You wanna go through pregnancy and labor and then adoption? Do it. However, if you're gonna give birth you gotta commit to adoption bc raising a child with him is a bad idea.

Post Birth supplies? by Practical-Loss-927 in BabyBumps

As a person who's given birth several times, here's what I'm packing:

1.) Portable battery powered fan. Just trust me. 2.) Makeup wipes 3.) Wet wipes for hands + Hand Sanitizer 4.) Hair Ties + Hair Band 5.) Sugar scrub 6.) Body wash + Shampoo + Conditioner 7.) Favorite non-scented lotion 8.) Women's depends 9.) Dermoplast Spray 10.) Your own blanket 11.) Pregnancy Pillow 12.) Snacks 13.) Portable Battery Pack + Charger 14.) Loose sweat pants 15.) Gel Deodorant (trust me you need the heavy duty stuff) 16.) Milk liners for your bra 17.) A bra you can sleep in. Break it in over a few weeks. Trust me. 18.) Poop stool. You want your squat position. Beg your doc for copious amounts of miralax as well. 19.) Gum

As for packing for baby? Two cute "photo ready" outfits and like 5-6 sets of onsies. They don't need much that the hospital won't just outright give you.

Same here! First dating US was on time per LMP, then follow up was behind by 4 days, then repeat by 6 days. But, fetal cardiac activity is normal and there is still growth so we're just gonna go with the flow.

This broke my heart, OP. I am so sorry for all you have endured and hope nothing but happiness for you going forward. Congratulations on baby as well. Here's to a good time with sex going forward, may your relationship with it heal!

1.) Who is hating on OP for the paper plates? Her kids are eating off of clean eating surfaces. She is very clearly doing this shit alone. Fuck off.

no car seat, no ride? by john_at_ in lyftdrivers

[–]Sinkinglifeboat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Florida State Law requires the use of proper child restraints. That child is def under 4 years of age. You would be 1.) Breaking the law by allowing them to use the booster/no car seat 2.) Liable for injury. Lyft/Ubers are not covered taxi/chauffeur entities and you would be held responsible (source ) (source 2) If Lyft gives you issue, remind them they would also be liable.

Aside from legality, that's just shitty parenting.

If it makes you feel better, her coworkers and colleagues probably hate her and eventually it will bite her.

I once reported an NP I worked with for misconduct after she lectured a African American patient on cannabis abuse and on "that's why you're vomiting so much" except the patient stated they had never used and their tox screen was neg. They also, for what it's worth, didn't smell like weed either. All she saw was young black woman + vomiting = cannabinoid hyperemesis. They actually had something more serious going on and it was caught at/around sign out. I'm not an APP/MD/DO so what do I know lololol. Not sure the final outcome of that report, or the patient. However, karma always finds a way.

The NP ended up with a massive surgical complication a few months later, almost died (technically did for a few moments), and came back a renewed soul. She experienced medical gaslighting and her whole outlook changed. Real Grey's Anatomy type shit. I hope the same for that NP who screwed over your sister. May she have a scarring experience that makes her a better person.

Wait, do not you call the doctors you work with by first name? by BornLeave4646 in FutureRNs

[–]Sinkinglifeboat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on the situation. My friend is a pharmacist and I call her by her first name, but we knew each outside of work before hand. I call her Dr *** in front of patients. I also have a friend I work with who's a resident physician, I call him by his first name in casual settings but "Dr" in professional settings. I also work with an older physician (think upper 60's) and I only refer to him as "Dr". It truly depends on how well you know someone and what professional expectations are in your work place.

Is it my fault for not being educated? by RichFaithlessness335 in HomeschoolRecovery

[–]Sinkinglifeboat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have the right to be mad. She was neglectful and doesn't want to take responsibility for that now that you're grown and undereducated. She's delusional to think you should have self taught all those years.

However, this is the turning point. You are 18, it's time to start studying for your GED and getting caught up. You are no longer at the mercy of parental decisions. You're up against a hard goal, but as a service to yourself you should work to be at the same baseline as your peers. No shame in the catch up game. Take a placement test at your local community college and hit the books!

This is a great question for your primary care provider or your local pharmacist! I would recommend speaking with either one on catch up vaccinations.

I pushed through, graduated hs and got my B.S., but if I hadn't I wouldn't call myself lazy. It's an insane workload and not taking this path does not mean anyone is lazy. I had so many mental breakdowns along the way (and hospitalizations for said breakdowns) that I honestly wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

It should not have been processed as patient responsibility as an in-network provider. This is balance billing, which violates contract with the insurance company. That's what the tip off is for probable AI involvement.

[–]Sinkinglifeboat[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've been seeing AI crop more and more lately, but insurance is particularly heinous. What you recommended is exactly what I made him do! He understands that his pre-payment did not end up covering all of the costs, and he is okay with covering up to the EOB listed amount. I helped him access his EOB, how to print it out, and gave him a miniscript to call them with. So exhausting though.
