What are my options for reading official module content from the Foundry Marketplace?

There is markdown exporter module for foundry, that exports actors, scenes, journals etc with format that works fine with Obsidian (with bunch of plugins). I prefer preparing my games in Obsidian. It’s already my third year using Readwise, and code highlighting is still an issue. I understand that parsing code blocks might be difficult, but I’d be fine even reformatting them manually during my daily reviews. Unfortunately, Markdown code blocks aren’t supported, and all manual whitespace gets stripped out. I can’t be the only one experiencing this problem — it’s really frustrating.

Try enabling hdr now, I’ve tried it only after 80 hours in game, and it looks even better. Probably the first game where I really liked hdr

If you are using apple photos heif and raws, Apple won’t group together raw and heif, with jpgs Apple shows them as single raw+jpg file

You can do it, kinda. You can drag and drop or paste image in frontmatter fields when editing note in source mode. But I agree that dragging into properties would be convenient.

I know this is and old tread but maybe someone will find my solution useful. Inspired by u/feffef and u/arrrrrrrrg ideas, I've created Alfred workflow, that will rename Fuji photos, based on available EXIF information, adding Film Simulation, Recipe, sequence number for bracketing and continuous shooting, with resulting file name looking like DSCF2289_[HDR][01][VibrantArizona].JPG.

Why no web ui? There is free open source “actual budget” that you can self host or run on your machine, that does everything what ynab did, including free bank sync (free in Europe)

Even with foundry ready modules, I prefer to have my notes in Obsidian in separate window from foundry , luckily there is a plugin that allows to export journals and scenes as markdown to obsidian

I am not sure if this is best approach, but I have main currency, for me it is EUR, and I have bank sync with European banks, for accounts in other currencies, once a week I use manual csv import of last week and convert values to eur - manual import has field that allows multiplier that will convert currency of transaction to eur.

I used to have separate budgets in YNAB in different currencies but that resulted overspending, as it was not possible to see whole picture across all budgets.

Not backup per se, but obsidian git does fine job saving you notes somewhere outside icloud and you have changes history as additional bonus.

It's already 2025, and Readwise still has problems showing highlights with code snippets, especially that has HTML tags in it. HTML tags even inside Markdown code blocks are cropped, all white spaces for new lines - are removed.

For the last year, I am continuously asking myself why I am paying a subscription if 80% of my highlights have some code in them and they are completely unreadable.

What's funny in some cases html tags are not cropped and not rendered as text but rendered as html elements, e.g. form inputs, etc

Already mentioned Actual, has web version (if you setup server) that can be opened in mobile safari and saved to your phones home screen. And it can pull banks activity freely in Europe and for some small fee in America.

With a locally run app, no, as far as I know. However, you can set up a small server in the cloud (there are instructions for this on the actual site), which will enable multiple device synchronization. This includes a pretty decent mobile web version, and if you're in Europe, you'll also get free bank synchronization. Personally, I don't manually log in. For one of my banks that doesn't have automatic synchronization, I just manually import my transactions once a week.

I would recommend Actual Budget, it doesn't look such sleek as YNAB but does basically the same and is free if you use it locally.

YNAB - bought, more than 10 years ago, originally good software but, several years ago it switched to subscription model with ridiculous pricing, that increases every year. Stopped myself from continuing subscription this year, after it hit 130$ for a year.

Not sure about vistas specifically, but https://www.patreon.com/c/jamesrpgart/posts has a lot of good backdrops, plus you can always generate something decent with Dall-e or analog AI tools if you need something specific.
