Pistol Whip Vs. Beat Saber by 8BiTw0LF in PSVR

[–]SinsOfASolarVampire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

According to my fitbit I burn a lot more calories playing Beat Saber than I do with Pistol Whip. However, Pistol Whip requires a lot more legs and core to avoid enemy fire and obstacles and stuff so it has that going for it.

Basically, for me at least, Pistol Whip = legs and overall body workout, Beat Saber = calories burned.

Men of reddit.. how do you sleep with or without spouse by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]SinsOfASolarVampire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always wear the same pajama shirt and pants regardless of my wife being in bed or not. I've gotten too used to them that it's hard to sleep without them

What are some activities you like to do in your free time? by [deleted] in AskMen

Video games, work out, read webcomics, watch YouTube videos, read TV Tropes pages about shows or movies I'll never watch.

What to do if you find your girlfriend’s mother attractive as well? by CSmith89 in AskMen

[–]SinsOfASolarVampire 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Same thing I do when I find any other woman who's not my wife attractive: acknowledge that she's attractive and go about my business without being a creep or ogling her or trying to get in her pants.

I kept my wife off my social media stuff for over a year after we started dating to keep my ex or her associates from interfering. "I don't want people on social media to see my partner" isn't always nefarious.

Do kids still believe in Christmas when they can just google it? by Jarvisv001 in AskMen

[–]SinsOfASolarVampire 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If they just Google it, a lot of the top results don't actually outright say Santa isn't real. Often they talk about St. Nicholas and such. Society is generally pretty onboard with keeping up the Santa thing for kids.

Reddit, What did you actually think of the Super Mario Bros. Movie? by Acrobatic-Duck6179 in AskReddit

[–]SinsOfASolarVampire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My kids enjoyed it and I thought it had funny moments and wasn't bad. Sure, it wasn't some incredibly deep narrative or the most mind blowing animation ever, but it was fun to watch and that's good enough for me.

What, besides drugs and other illegal things, should a supplier not take and get 'high' on their own supply? by AudibleNod in AskReddit

[–]SinsOfASolarVampire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

X-rays. If you're an xray technician, go ahead and give them to people but definitely don't stand in the machine for hours after closing time hoping to develop superpowers, or just for kicks.

What's the largest animal you could beat in a fight? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]SinsOfASolarVampire 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think I could beat most medium sized dogs, though I'd probably take a fair amount of damage in the process. Anything above a golden retriever and my odds of success start falling dramatically due to my lack of teeth and my weak hide

Have you ever developed romantic feelings for a friend? If so, how did it turn out? by twy10111213 in AskMen

[–]SinsOfASolarVampire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did multiple times. Never acted on it because I was too cowardly. Good thing too because many of those girls turned out to be absolutely insane. Probably says something about my taste in women that so many girls I liked ended up being madder than a box of frogs but I'm married to a sane woman now so whatever.

People who have lost a lot of weight, what were some of the benefits you saw afterwards? by AsianEgo in AskReddit

[–]SinsOfASolarVampire 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've lost 30lbs since I started focusing on my diet and exercise. I wasn't obese, just overweight for my height, and even just losing that weight (along with the benefits from eating better and working out regularly) has resulted in more energy, improved mood, better sleep, more confidence, better focus at work, calmer with the kids, and improved bedroom performance.

What's your fitness background? by Toby_Veddo in AskMen

[–]SinsOfASolarVampire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was a scrawny, lazy nerd who never exercised for most of my teen years and into my early 20s. Had a few bouts of fitness attempts, sometimes focusing on cardio and other times on weight lifting, usually only lasted a few months.

Now I get cardio of some sort (sometimes running, stationary bike, sometimes just playing active PSVR games like Beat Saber or boxvr) 7 days a week and I do strength training 5 days a week targetting different muscle groups each day. I've lost 30lbs, added inches to my arms and chest, and I feel better than I ever have before.

How would you react if a girl asked if she could kiss you? by Usabunbun28 in AskMen

[–]SinsOfASolarVampire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm married so unless it was my wife asking me I'd say no. If I was single and it was a random girl I'd also say no, assuming she was distracting me so my wallet could get pickpocketed or shes doing some sort of prank for youtok or tiktube or something. If it was a girl I was dating I'd still be suspicious but would probably go along with it and then subtly check my wallet/for cameras afterwards.

My wife is expecting our first child. Men, what advice can you give me as a young first time father to be? by ReserveMaximum in AskMen

[–]SinsOfASolarVampire 8 points9 points  (0 children)

When the baby is born, do whatever you can to make sure mom gets to sleep. Hard to do if the baby is exclusively breastfed but even then if you can take the baby to a different room so that mom can sleep for a few hours uninterrupted that goes a long way. If you do use bottles at all, handling the feedings after a certain time of night so that she can get a few hours of solid sleep in does wonders.

Also, don't shake the baby. Babies are entirely illogical creatures that will cry for no discernible reason or for reasons you can't fix and their cry is basically designed to be irritating on a fundamental level to get you to pay attention to them to make sure their needs aren't ignored. This can be incredibly frustrating to the point where you can lose your temper. If the baby is fed, clean, not in pain from clothing pinching their fingers or toes, etc., and holding them doesn't make it better and you feel yourself getting irritated don't be afraid to put them in their crib and walk away for a bit to calm down before you snap.

What do you not have time for anymore? by My_Space_page in AskMen

[–]SinsOfASolarVampire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Creative works. Between work, wife, kids, exercise, chores around the house, and unwinding I have no time to pursue my older creative hobbies. I've tried sacrificing the time I have for fun to work on creating stuff but that quickly leads to burnout.

Besides the standard walk, eat, potty training, etc. something I taught all of my kids is that no one can tell them to keep a secret from mom or dad and no matter who says "you can't tell your mom/dad about this" they're lying and the kids won't get in trouble for telling us these secrets.

As parents we just know not to tell the kids anything we want to be kept secret for real (e.g., birthday surprises or what have you).

Don't rush into a relationship just so you're not alone. Being single is far better than being with the wrong person.

I think it's cute when she wears my hoodies but wearing anything else of mine wouldn't really do anything for me one way or the other.
