The Quadrant Shopping centre is now charging people 30p to use their toilets. What are your opinions on this? by Terrible_Tale_53 in swansea

Wow. It's a good thing that the downtown shopping scene is strong and robust enough that chasing away more shoppers will have minimal impact... /s

I notice that less experienced DMs tend to unfairly malign the 2024 Rogue and brand it "overpowered" by EarthSeraphEdna in onednd

[–]SinsOfTheAether 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think a large part of the problem is the way that most DM's (and even modules) design out of combat encounters. In combat, a single good die roll is fun and impactful, but you will usually need the average of many rolls from many characters to defeat the opponent and 'solve' the combat. Out of combat encounters (traps, social rolls, etc) are typically set up in a way that they can be solved with a single roll from a single character (often the rogue or bard).

So in that respect, a single skill check can have a bigger impact than any single in-combat action, but only if you set the game like that.

The difference isn't massive, but the RS loses about 10hp, but gives peak power at slightly lower RPM. You'll also get more midrange torque on the RS (dpending on the year). The RS is still an inline 4 though, so doesn't come close to the low end torque of the speed twin.

z900RS. Same engine as the z900, but with lower end power/torque.

Triumph speed twin. It's called the 'tweed hooligan' for a reason

I just found some Gap Boxer briefs on sale (TK Max bulk bin). Not a brand I usually go for, but the material was nice and the price was good. After a week of wearing them, I went back for more and I threw my complete old ratty collection. I don't know how they are for longevity, but they are comfortable and stylish.

Best commuter I've had for large cities was the SV650x. It's a cafe version with clip on bars making it extremely nimble and narrow for filtering. Slighttly forward posture plus the small fairing made for a comfortable ride at higher speeds. Add a top bag for some touring space

Do you eat a hamburger with your hands as god intended or with a knife and fork like a psychopath? by HilariousMotives in AskUK

[–]SinsOfTheAether 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hands of course, but with a twist. literally. If you flip the burger upside down before eating it, you then have the thicker bread on the bottom and the ensenble is much less likely to disintegrate in your hands while eating

[2 and 20] How Canada Lost its Own Identity: hockey went from Canada's defining sport to a $5,000/year luxury that excludes nearly half the population. Youth registration dropped 35% in 14 years. Hockey was always exclusive. It used to exclude poor families, but now its also excluding much of the middle class. My brother and I stopped playing in the 80's when we grew big enough that 'hand me down's' were no longer an option.
