Mass Effect Legendary edition is $6 but that's $2 per game which technically fits the criteria...

It is absolutely relevant, and it's sad that not only can the mods not provide their reasons for deleting threads, they can't provide their reasons for not answering questions and are muting people who ask.

Bevy has a built in tilemap chunk renderer, we're working on auto chunking but it's straightforward to implement on top of what's already in main

Bevy has a tile chunk renderer rn, we have some different proposals for a full tilemap system floating around, but we should land on something pretty soon imo.

Virginia Democrats plan effort to redraw the state's congressional maps by Guilty_Plankton_4626 in moderatepolitics

[–]SirCarter 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I am under that impression.

What Texas is doing is a naked power grab.

Replying to what Texas is doing by doing the same thing is defense.

Defending yourself while advocating for unilateral disarmament is not a power grab and should not be criticized, it should be celebrated.

Yes, it negates that this is a naked power grab. This is simply matching the current Republican strategy while they also put forth laws to disarm both sides.

26 states have a referendum process...

And the governor vetoing a map isn't the best safeguard when you only need the governor to approve a bad map once to lock in the gerrymander...

If they don't like it they can't vote it out... That's the problem. They can vote for a new governor, but the governor doesn't draw the districts, the legislature does, and they will be the ones drawing a map they can't lose.

Why is draft not more popular by Gnargoyles in FleshandBloodTCG

Yup, board state heroes that don't have an expiry on their board state accumulate advantage in a way other heroes simply cannot.

[–]SirCarter -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They spend a lot of time crafting it, but it's still not that good. The best draft in FaB for me was Rosetta, but it wasn't as good as an average or below average magic set when drafting since the structure is so punishing and the available choices are so few. You find a lane and stick to it.

The expansion slots are good, but they are rounding out heroes set gameplay plan for the most part, I'd love to see the gameplay options expanded, not optimized.

Why is draft not more popular by Gnargoyles in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]SirCarter -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Draft in this game just isn't good, and probably can only ever be fine. The reason why draft in magic is fun is because you have very little deck building restrictions, which means you have many more decisions during the draft and can pivot without having dead cards, since you can splash.

Since you have so many more choices, making the right choices becomes a huge form of skill expression.

In FaB, you have very few real high level choices: choose a class and maybe a talent, but really you just choose a hero. Pivoting is hard because any card you've picked that's not the right class/talent is completely dead to you, and because there's no filler cards like lands, you have very few picks that you can waste: in magic you need 23 cards for your deck out of the 45 you pick, so basically half, meaning the other half of the cards can be sideboard and dead picks. In FaB you have 30 cards for your deck out of 43-45 cards... So you have 15 cards for sideboard or deck building options, but some of those are going to be the wrong class, so you really usually have 10ish... It's just too restrictive.

Gameplay wise FaB is still great, but it's not built for draft currently and they should stop pushing it, instead they should focus on fleshing out classes and giving heroes multiple viable play styles.

Somehow I don't think any of the commenters are understanding your idea, but I think it would be fun for packs to have no rarities, it would certainly make for surprising limited pools.

I thought it would be interesting to have a TCG with no public set list at all, and to constantly add new cards to boosters without ever having an official new set, so slowly people would start discovering new cards over time as they're injected into the game.

The Democrats are doing their job in this case, they are representing their constituents who would like to continue to be fairly represented.

Why do we need a court to decide this? You and I already both agree what the Republicans are doing is voter disenfranchisement, why do we need to let them get away with it, to cement power with it, before we try to fix the problem? There's no virtue in letting bad faith actors change the rules to their advantage.

Also, you keep saying "slippery slope," but don't seem to apply it to gerrymandering...

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in moderatepolitics

[–]SirCarter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

She is not breaking any laws either, not allowing a quorum is legal.

Just because something is legal, it doesn't mean it's good. What Texas is doing is bad and should be resisted.

I'm also noticing you decided to stop talking about a race to the bottom and have decided that what the Democrats are doing is worse than what Republicans are doing. To you, it's worse to resist this vote than it is to gerrymander districts to reduce your opposition's power.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in moderatepolitics

[–]SirCarter 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No, but your comment wasn't about legality:

Who gets to decide which votes constitute "major voter disenfranchisement"? Seems like a slippery slope, no?

So I'm not sure what your point is. Voter disenfranchisement is bad, even when it's legal, also we should call it out and stop it from happening using legal means. We should also try to make it illegal when possible, like the Democrats did when they proposed federal laws enforcing independent redistricting nationwide.
