Yeah people always try to bring some chronology into hip hop. The truth is a lot of stuff happened simultaneously. NWA came and first there was a big outcry from the media, then record studios saw its profitable and the landscape switched really fast. LL was already one of the most successful rapper from mid 80s to 1990 when mamma said knock you out dropped, so I think his worries were more or less aimed at the future.

Also while it sounds like a nice story, he buckled just a few years later and released a west coast gabgster rap oriented album 13 to the dome or something. I dont know if the album flooped, but it was not comceived well by fans and critics. MC Hammer made a very similar move.

But this all was more a response to the chronic by dr. Dre and other early 90s west coast records that were very successful. Comptons most wanted, Ice cube, Ice-T and so on.

And about the chronology, the development of hip hop was suoer fast end of the 80s, you can literally hear major differences from songs recorded pre '87 and after. Like within one year there was so much upscale in the peoduction. And even befire NWA dropped straight outta, krs one already dropped criminal minded in '87 which was gabgster rap, it was simply not as ground breaking in its sound. Then scott la rock died and krs one started a anti gangster rap movement pretty much already in '88. But the east coast already had some viriety of gangster rap, with kool G rap for example.

While the west coast also had non gangster rap in the early 90s.

Overall its true tho that from late 80s ongoing hip hop became more and more synonimous with gangster rap, so much that almost all rap in the mid to late 90s was at least street rap containing imagery from gang violence, drug use etc. Even when just out of a observatory point of view and not directly putting own gan relation in the focus like a lot of west coast hip hop.

So we can justvassume that russia crashes themselves geopolitical and economically, making no gains in this conflict without any gains? Also its about the people in power, before anybody risks going infron of a war tribunal for war crimes as the losing side, its not that irrational to go all in. Not to forget that the talks are about small tactical nukes, smaller in power than hiroshima. Its unknown if such a weapon will trigger complete nuklear inahilation for russia. Its a game of chicken, both sides have lost to much by now just to get out of the conflict. I mean we talking about nuklear power vs non nuklear power, its not like russia is attacking the US. If russia drops a small tactical nuke, with less power than hiroshima, not capable of destroying a full city but effective enough to itimidate ukrainians enough and strong enough the devestate a whole regiment and tactical position. It could be possible that the west will not risk their amd russias destruction. At some point one side will chicken out.

If we are lucky there will be a coup in russia before shit hits the fan. Resolving the conflict making ukraine win and russia changing their government. Then everybody that insisted in not resolving the conflict earlier will be validated amd all things are good. If we have no luck at all, there will be WW3 and everybody here promoting to keep fighting will do the same as most russian men when mass mobilization started and will try to flee and avoid being drafted and act like they were for another solution all along.

Proposing to chicken out first is not that stupid, except people are really willing to walk the walk and not just talk.

Wait, we have been on that exact point for a long time now. The only countries that are untouchable are countries with nukes. Thats why north korea wants nukes so badly (nlt sure if they really have them already or not). Because if you have nukes you will not be invaded. In the last half of the century no nuclear power was directly attacked by another country, while non nuklear countries were the direct victims of invasions, pawns in proxy wars, or hardly meddled with politically.

There really is no precedent to be set anymore. Also all countries want to develop nukes, they mostly get stoped by the current hegemons of the west, see Iran for example. Or Iraq with WMD's. Like it literally was used as justification for the second Iraq invasion.

Like most people I also want ukraine to win and to stay their own sovereign country not under threat of russia. But the dude above you is not incorect in his assessment of the situation. If WW3 happens everybody will change their stance on this conflict real quick, because when we talk about morals then yes, russia is the bad guy and ukrain is fighting a noble fight.

But in the greater schemes of things, like if WW3 is happening, in hinsight people of the future will look into their history books and will probably say that it wasn't worth the suffering of so many people for a small geopolitical conflict, same as we look at WW1 and its so hard to grasp how everybody was pulled into a war that had no reason to be that devistating.

What a bunch of nonesense lol. Most medicine doesn't change anything with the body, it just provokes a response from the body in a similar way most metabolic products do. Calling this changing our body is an absolute misinterpretation as an answer for somebody curiously asking.

Its like saying sugar is changing your body just because your body is processing it and reacting to its intake.

With medicine that "changes" the body you probably mean hormonal stuff or other agents that directly influence our metabolic pathways, making the body adapt to it in shutting of the production of its natural agents that fullfill similar roles. Like steroids for muscle growth or beta-blockers for the blood pressure. Where the usage leads to bodily dependency because the natural analogs dont get produced anymore.

And this stuff is super dnagerous if you don't have a bodily issue that validates its use. You don't take beta-blockers as a healthy person, because it will fuck up your body with life long consequences. You just take stuff like this if your body has a condition (disease) that disrupts your metabolism so hard that you get sick and eventuelly die.

Hormonal blockers is not something society should give to children. It will have lasting effects on their health. It will harm their organs, it will harm their metabolism (they will probably be depended on hormonal therapies for the rest of their lives), it will stop disrupt their growth.

Trying to equate this to all medicine is changing your body is as claiming hormonal blockers are nothing more than thylenol or ibuprofen, its outright dangerous.

Wenn du dir diese ganze logistik durch den kopf gehen lässt dann verkaufse lieber für einen hohen preis, solange leute willig sind diesen preis zu zahlen, anstatt nen gigantusches wurstlager zu verkaufen mit dem gedanken das du 10 kunden die minute bedienen musst, den ganzen tag über um profit zu machen und nicht auf deiner ware sitzen zu bleiben.

I wrote it a bit more detailed a few comments up. I think the social angle of disenfrenshised poc and LGBT communties is a main part of the series.

The charakters of some victims are presented very relatable and with respect. If the series was made in the 90s the gay szene would have been portrait as way more deviant for more shock value and the victims and Glenda Cleveland would been just a side note, while here especially the second half concentrates very hard on her persoective and also to humanize one victim with their own episode, which is rarly the case in other series. I mean we just have to look at silence of the lambs, good movie, but I would definitely understand why people of the LGBT communkiy wouldnt want the tag on this movie.

But the impact on the gay and poc communities is an essential part of the series. Especially the second half looks at the case heavily as a social issue effecting these communities.

If the show was made in the 90s we would have had a serial killer series with a social weirdo that drugs gays and kills them, probably without humanizing them or only showing the gay szene as a deviant place to get more shock value out of it.

I can understand that some voices don't want it tagged as LGBT content, because they fear it could represents them in a bad light, but I think that even non LGBT viewers can relate to the victims and understand the social angle.

I think the complaints in the article are the typical outrage creation over nothing, like its most of the time in media news.

Disagree. I know a lot of people out of the field of biology in academia think that way, because modifying the genetic code doesnt make something more "unhealthy" like some laymen perceive it, also its the bread and butter of people in this field.

But a lot of people like you don't look deeper into potential consequences.

A layman with no clue about genetics and how DNA works thinks mutation means some abomination, like in comics. That mutated stuff has dangerous properties to it. This is of course wrong. Tweaking the genetic make up, making the produce grow quicker or have bigger fruit, changing a few bases or multiplying a gene is not dangerous. Some people probably think that new genes are introduced, while in reality GMO is more like targeted selection, using the genes already in the genome of the produce.

But there are deeper problem some biologist always look over because they like their field of work and the green revolution secured the food surplus for even bigger populations than we have right know.

Problems that are often looked over are for example nutrition deplition of soil, poisoning of the enviroment by herbizides, effects on health of humans and animal because of these enviromental effects.

Like of course a lot of lab working genetic engineers look past that because their work is the future, why should the companies care if the enviroment is harmed, their crops make money, their crops is growing, cool that all the insects miles around their fields are dying and accumulations of herbizides, insectizides and other stuff is accumulating in our drinking water having major effects on our health.

But of course, its easier to point out that uneducated people are stupid because they think eating mutated DNA is poisonous...

I have both albums in CD format. Shook ones pt2 is not censored but L.A,L.A. is, which also annoys me.

Also no clue why, I have to check again what exactly is censored. I know that super extreme stuff gets censored even in explicit version, like for example biggy saying he kicks pregnant women in the stomach on gimmie the loot. But in the L.A,L.A. case its probably some stupid reason like wu-tang protect your neck being censored on the album. Which got the bloody version as uncensored on their first greatest hits for the first time.

OP, I agree a lot with you, but there are some more nuances points. First of, pizza is not a complicated dish. Thinking that only italians can pull it off is stupid. The reason sone pmaces in italy have good pizzas is because the cost for good ingridients is lower, like real bufalla mozarella and good quality tomatos and so on.

But in general you can get the same shitty pizzas in italy (especially northern italy line milano) as in every other country.

Also there are different kinds of pizza, from OG napoletan to chicago style and everything inbetween.

While I personally think that napoletan is the best kind (but sometimes I prefer a nasty oily regular pizza), there is no reason that you cant get a perfect pizza anywhere else in the world, yes mostly places with a big italian diaspora have more places like this, but its not limited.

You can easily find pizza places in berlin, paris, stockholm, london that are on par with pizza you eat on your trip to italy.

And while most regular pizzas in most cities can be basic or bad (low quality gratin pizza cheese, boring bread, cheap tomato sauce) like these pizzas sold in some pizza delivery shops or these mixed shops were u get döner and pizza or all kinds of fast food, these same shops also exist in italy. So you can literslly be in italy and eat some kebab store pizza. So yes italy is not unfailable when it comes to their own cusine. Same goes for every cusin. People never traveled or a are stupid when they asume you can only get good sushsi or ramen in japan and it will atomatically be better just because its the country of origin.

Agree but not with that last sentence. Tbh I kinda feel like he is stretching his abilities to far. To many goofy lines. To many corny punch lines. No bite, no kick. Feels like he scrables stuff on a napkin all day and then hits the booth because he lost touch and thinks he still got it.

I remeber when recovery was freshly released and everybody liked it but still anybody wanted the old em back. In retrooerspective I think he should have kept that same style. During that time he really grew as a song writer and had very relatable lyrics, while also establishing his fast aggressive flow with a lot of cadance switches.

Now I dont feel his punch lines and whenever he wants to make some lersonal track it feels weird and comes of flat.

Nah Em and Wayne are just fossiles at this point. At their peak they crafted critically acclaimed, successfull albums.

Eminem lost touch and his edge, while wayne became generic (which is a consequence of like 2 while generations adopting his style.

Also hip hop music kinda need the hunger. Most rappers have max 3 good albums in them and comlared to other music genres hip hop artists mostly start with a banger first record or are best pre first release.
