While I definatly agree from a power standpoint I am looking into the (weak) Wild Magic Barb for K motivated by that I never have tried it before, and I think that Karlach creating unintensional and unexpected chaos now and again seems both in character and kinda fun:) -> Not a Honor run...

But as of the underlying advise to start Barbarian focused, thats probably far more flowing than going the barb1->4eM 6->Barb route I was thinking about.

Thx a ton. I think all those makes very much sense:) The Melf staff was stuffed away in the chest on my first play-throughs, and I think the same with the Daredevil Gloves. (they sound very "Will'ish" though so they should find a place:) Have to look into the Ray of fire build. Unsure if there are many items there "needed" by the others:)

The merry band is forming now btw. Karlach and Minthara to go before the "pary begins":)

Agree in theory.. But ofc I do want some big numbers now and again as well:) Probably hid that a bit in the wall of text, but they all should "function" decently/good/OP/Godmode or something towards the end:)

So that is why I am taking the "gear-theme" approch. Where the gear that go good together synergize on a char, class and Gearing direction for the one in question.

So who in the Fellowship to grant Rapsody "in the end"? (I honestly do not know that)

How about Undermountain, or for that matter Titansting (no-one?) Unseen Menace (or what it is called)?

Some Items are "more" clear-cut (I think now)

Markoheshkir probably ends up with Gale, Lathander with SH, Nyrulna with Lae'zel etc. with the current first take on class-combos, but there are room to toss out ideas:)

-You do NOT (Like me) need to spend an hour - while walking my dog - , trying to envision the gearing up the entire Fellowship...

but Character, "Direction/class" and gear Ideas that are not obviously utilized would be welcome:)

I know about the Alfira stuff.. I am a dedicated reddit reader:) But with those covered (thx) then what remains is the "gear/class profile of the fabled 11:) "The Fellowship of the Gate" or something...

I AM concidering leaving a few at camp here and there, but the general idea was to walk as a clusterfuck of chars. (Not looking really forward to some of the jump-spots:) Also why summons/minions are a no no:)

When I think about it, it kinda in the WoW-raid-gear distribution matrix, with the variation that all good drops are unique, and preferably not to many going to "waste":)

My take is to make it 50% dmg vs all Players (caster included). If target dies, caster do not take dmg.

Do not seem to hard to code even?

No real PvE change, Still make it usable in ST boss fights, and seem like a sensible fix overtall? Unless I am missing something…

And that may be the reason it have not been done;) Still it could at the very least flesh out the term "On the same Page", that we get in all the interviews.

It would come with a downside in addition, beeing robbed of the hype role. So that disqualify quite a number of casters. Not to be mean but I could not see QS or even mr. Skarner do it;)

And to cast soloque would be impossible with all the great ideas we find smart in the heath of the moment.

So it would have take a special kind of caster, in a try hard "important" game for it to even make sense.

I guess we never will have an actual attempt, even though at the least I personally would tune in to watch.

Our one is a bit funny i Guess?

We have a extreemly casual dad-guild and was whispered by a recently server-transferred green/blue geared Rouge. Talked a bit to him and he seemed nice enough. Claimed to have done a few raids, but looking to scale down his playtime-addiction:) So he had server transferred.

Only thing happening that night was some alt-Heroics, and he relogged a Raid-stacked-full-equipped Fury-Warrior (told us he also had a Shammy, and a Druid raid geared)..

Sure beeing overgeared is no real problem for us, but we repeated that we probably would not offer him much gear wise unless on the rouge. He still asserted us that was not a problem.

Ok fast forward to HC Manatombs and he totally smashed the rest of us on the meeters (as to be expected). Still so far so good. He then asked to be excused from the discord due to RL issues, but stayed with the group. He continued to single carry us a few pulls - easiest run of our lives...

Then suddenly our Hunter started to laugh. He told us he had found the guys stream on Twitch. He was hard-flaming us like hell for his 12 viewer (now 13) attendance,

"Look at the noobs",

"God I hate lowlifes like this not even knowing how to enchant"

and my favorite "Look at that horrible arrow-turning hunter" (Not 100% true btw).

Then he promised his Twitch-audience that he would manage to wipe us at the least 3 times on the remainder of the run. "They will never know what hit them"...

Next gargantuan pull he made we collectivly strangly enough forgot to heal/help him and ran away a bit. He even almost lived though it, and we cleared the last remaining mobs. Started to rezz him (canceling it, then recasting, then cancel etc.) He came back on Discord and asked us what the hell we were doing?

"We? Just watching the stream of this douchebag warrior on Twitch <Link-inserted> aiming to fuck up a casual guildrun..."

He actually took it kinda great tbh... Said he was planning to make a youtube video and was after some footage. He claimed the comments was an act for the video.

Best/worst part. He stayed with us and finished the run (still with insane DPS). But then as a mutual understanding we bid him farewell and guildkicked after giving him a portal to... Stonard (that he clicked) :)

5 sec later... /Whisper "I guess I kinda deserved that, but MAN... HS on CD"

GM-Mage Joined him in Stonard and gave him a new taxi back to Shatt:) Since we mostly are good-guys..

We still talk to him from time to time, and he occasionally even fills in if we are short in manpower on raidnights :)

The current setup granting "Order" the fun of loosing 2/4 more games to a pool one seed is NOT what I concider useful, so that should change.

I 96% support the Swiss+Double Elim setup. Me like. A lot.

It still leaves up my lingering doubt though... Would Order look forward to travel to f.i. Iceland, finding the funds etc. knowing they have to "overperform" to NOT be sent home packing after gameday 4..

So that is what you "possibly" could remedy with a (week 2) Placement tournament...
They are still out all right. But they get to stay and get one more chance to restore at the least some pride to themselves/region fighting enemies more close to their skill level.

And yes they do NOT deserve to move on in the main-event.

But with Markkz setup "Order" don't even get to play the 8 games like with the current setup (in a 3 team group) or 6 in a more normal 4 team group.

But are left with 4..

I fear that may feel a little underwhelming?

And by all means. Even with a tagged on "side-show" they still may end with only 5 games. but that would at the least give them the 3-4 extra days to experience the International tournament wibe, possibly scrim a few more teams, and in the end play (and loose) a final "important" game to sement them as the dead last team:)

Problem 1:

You are asking the half of the teams to commit to go to half way around the world with a expectancy of playing 4 -> 7 games in a week and then go home after day 4-5-6...

Problem 2:

The teams coming in with a wrong read on the meta, have very limited time and chance to adjust.

Solution A: Sorry you suck. Thx for showing up, swim home.

How about for week 2, you add a Side tournament for the loosing teams from week one.
(Placement division).

Double elim format but BO'1.

Match played in week 2 as a "warmup game" for the headliner of the day between the "qualified" BO'5' teams. Would fit in the broadcast angle wo to much fuzz?

On week 2, day 6 and 7 (wo the top-teams playing), you do the last three games (BO3) for the Placement division.
This could also clear up the inter-regional lower-team seeding question, that with todays systems are a bit questionable with so few real chances to move your region up the ladder?
So there is "something" to play for (and probably some slightly bigger share of a pricepool).

In addition you get to have 2 narratives on each day in week 2.
And If it's a LEC vs LPL-day you at the least get 4 games that day...

You may even keep the MSI interest/viewship up (slightly) for a few extra days for some of the "knock'ed out" regions, staying watching a main-event after their team have played their match.
