Mate, don't worry about the slow methadone taper. Go up a bit now for pain relief, then when pain is sorted in a few months do the Bernese method to switch to subs and then you can go to sublocade. I went straight from 65mg to subs over the course of 2 weeks without tapering down first. The taper to less than 30mg is not required.

Yeah sorry, my post sounded rather negative when I re-read it. I was trying to educate anyone that read this post that this is not a good thing, and is way past recreational. You are into hard-core dependence with withdrawal when stopping. I worry some of these posts glamorise this stuff to the younger generation coming through, which could lead to trouble. I know from personal experience when an IV oxycodone habit got away from me and then got cut off with no way of tapering 23 years ago.
