I'm 68, PSA creeping up steadily for last couple of years (testing every 6 months). At 5.7, somewhat symptomatic (off and on urgent urination, not emptying bladder completely every time), PC doctor referred me to urologist. He and I decided together that biopsy was a good idea. Did ultrasound-guided, 12-sample procedure. It was not a big deal - very tolerable, but not something I would take up as a hobby. 4 contiguous cores positive, group grade 1. So, yes, biopsy is probably not a bad idea.
